We just got married on this beach and it was the most perfect setting for us. It can be a little difficult to find but once you are there, it is gorgeous. Parking is also limited so go early. If you want to watch local kids jumping from the lava rocks, they love to come here. Beautiful place!

A nice beach, plenty of parking, with a lifeguard station, outside shower, bathroom, swings, picnic tables and small changing area. Down below the beach is wide enough between the rock jetties to swim and boogie board on, and also plenty of space to sit and watch and relax. We only had one bad day where the orange flags were up due to bad wave angles. A nice beach in a nice shore town. The great thing about Kihei is it knows what kind of town it is and doesn't pretend to be Waikiki by any stretch, which is a good thing IMO.

Catch yourself some to go picnic breakfast food from across the street at cafe la plague or Maui fish and chips and settle in for sunset on the grassy lawn just a hopping step from your street side parking at Kamaole Beach Park II. If you fancy observing or trying to follow along some Beachside yoga, this park may provide that occasional opportunity. When the afternoon beach winds subside, Bring your beach chairs onto the early evening moonlit beach and cozy up with your toes in the soft sand for some romance shared over refreshing Maui gelato while listening to the sound of the ocean’s rolling waves crashing just steps before you. This beach park offers 2 concrete picnic tables, ease of sand access, close proximity to your street parked car while you are on the beach, food just across the street, as well as space for both sand lovers and lawn lovers. Tip: buy food and use restrooms at the Dolphin plaza across the street since the restrooms for this park #2 are shared and located a slight bit further in the middle of the first two Kamaole beach parks .

Whenever we're in Maui, we prefer to stay in Kihei at a hotel directly across from Kam Beach 1. Snorkeling is very good in the mornings when the water is calm. Unfortunately, this year in early November, there were tiger shark sightings which forced the closure of the beach for a couple of days -- apparently there were dead/dying fish from a damaged fishing net. When the beach finally opened, it had to be closed again, this time due to strong rip currents. Good thing there are lifeguards on the Kam 1-3 beaches.

Love this beach. We stayed at the Sugar Beach Resort and were just steps from this beautiful beach. While the water was a little cool we were still able to enjoy some time playing in the waves. I loved the fact that we didn't have to deal with rocks or seaweed. We were able to watch the whales from our chair which was a nice surprise. Although we didn't have children we say many on the beach and it looked safe for them. Very quite and lovely week spent on this wonderful beach.

We stayed across the street from this beach and it was a fantastic little beach. Not super crowded except on the weekend when the locals are there. You know its there hang out because they were fishing and grilling on the beach. There's a great volcano tube right there to snorkeling and saw a lot of turtles and fish. There's a place to rinse off and porta potty.
