Kiev Oblast or Kyiv Oblast (Ukrainian: Київська область, translit. Kyivs’ka oblast’; also referred to as Kyivshchyna – Ukrainian: Київщина) is an oblast (province) in central Ukraine. The administrative center of the oblast is the city of Kiev (Ukrainian: Київ, Kyiv), which also serves as the capital of Ukraine. Despite being located in the center of the Kiev Oblast, and hosting the governing bodies of the oblast, Kiev itself is a self-governing city with special status and not under oblast jurisdiction.

Since mid-November 2014, Mezhyhirya has been a museum that displays the luxury of its former owner, former President of Ukraine Viktor Yanukovych. The estate is located in the village of Novi Petrivtsi, 25 km from Kiev. Yanukovych lived in it from 2002 to 21 February 2014, when he abandoned the estate during the 2014 Ukrainian Revolution.
This place is about a 30 minute drive north of the city. It was essentially a private residence built for a corrupt president with stolen funds. The place is truly remarkable. It is also a gorgeous place to visit. We also hired the electric cart service to get a ride around the massive complex.
