Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (abbreviated as KP; Urdu: خیبر پختونخوا; Pashto: خیبر پښتونخوا) is one of the four administrative provinces of Pakistan, located in the northwestern region of the country along the international border with Afghanistan. It was previously known as the North-West Frontier Province (NWFP) until 2010, and is known colloquially by various other names. Khyber Pakhtunkhwa is the third-largest province of Pakistan by the size of both population and economy, though it is geographically the smallest of four. It comprises 10.5% of Pakistan's economy, and is home to 11.9% of Pakistan's total population, with the majority of the province's inhabitants being Pashtuns, Hazarewal, Chitrali, and Kohistanis. The province is the site of the ancient kingdom Gandhara, including the ruins of its capital Pushkalavati near modern-day Charsadda. Originally a stronghold of Hinduism and Buddhism, the history of the region was characterized by frequent invasions under various Empires due to its geographical proximity to the Khyber Pass.

In good old days, Saif ul Muluk was a nice place to visit and to stay for some time. Now, we have spoiled this gem and have made it into a local bazaar.
Views are still stunning, if one gets a view.... mass tourism, coupled with cabins &shops have spoiled the serenity and the mystique of the place

Amazingly beautiful. Gabdhara civilization. One cant imagine whats there in a far off city of takh bhai. Its not fully explored. Enjot chapal kebabs from.takht bhai market and visit budhas palace and stopas up on the hills. I love the place. Visited many times.

Chitral gol national park located over Chital just 1:5H from maintown.
The best moment to visit is when the moon is full and u just sit on a ridge facing lowe valley.
Its a place home to unique wild life .
Home to endangered species of the most beautiful cat....snow leopard
Common chukkor ,Pakistan national bird , red fox ,Tibetan wolf,lammergeyer
A PTDC motel is there but not funtional

True to its reputation, Babusar Top/ Pass is the mountain pass over which the road from Kaghan/ Naran goes towards Chilas. The road is in excellent condition and the scenery all along the road is awesome. Once you reach the top, the views all around are magnificent. Some small stalls there sell snacks and tea etc.

The hike from lalazar to mukshpuri was amazing but tough. There is a zoo enroute to the peak housing native animals like leopards, snow leopards, black bears and goral but it only operates in summers. The views of the mountain are amazing and one feels in touch with nature. I would definitely go again

Islamia college is the oldest educational institute in Peshawar. The building is huge and historic. The Playgrounds, hostels and lawns are simply fascinating. This institute has contributed a lot to development of this region.

Had an amazing experience at the Alpine hotel and vacation homes. The location was absolutely amazing as were the rooms and the cottage itself in general. The owners/ managers- Mr. Ali and Mr. Azam were very hands on and were very accommodating and obliging and catered to our needs- (we went with a family of 20, people of all ages) and had a very pleasant stay! Our butlers Omar bhai and Shahid bhai were also very sweet, helpful and hardworking. However, with an improvement in heating, this place would be nothing less than perfect. But definitely the best choice to stay in Nathia!

This is a mountain Plateau at 11000 feet, it is about 25-30km(20-25 miles) from Naran on main Naran to Chilas/Babusar top road, U will see a small board pointing to a dirt jeep road on the right side coming from Naran, the climb is steep & very narrow bumpy dirt jeep track, takes about 45 minutes to reach Lalazar, Once on top the VIEWS are Amazing with cool mountain breeze, smell of pine & wild flowers, snow on the side & beautiful streams and water falls.
The Views are Breath taking, a true HEAVEN ON EARTH. You can clearly see Malika Parbat(Quuen of the Mountains) Peak, THE HIGHEST Peak in Kaghan Valley at nearly 17500 feet, from here.
Lalazar is a stepped Plateau. Locals plant Potatoes in Summer here in the steps. There is a small hotel selling fod/drinks. & toilet facility is also available but it is Eastern Toilet where you have to sit.
Water is Pure & drinkable here fresh from springs/streams.
A MUST VISIT NOT TO Be MISSED. Best time to go is from May to mid September. Closed during other months due to Snow.
You can hire jeeps from Naran town OR from Shogran, from Shogran it is about 5-6 hr drive depending on Road conditions & from Naran atleast a 2 hr drive depending on Road.
