Kennett Square is a borough in Chester County, Pennsylvania, United States. It is known as the Mushroom Capital of the World because mushroom farming in the region produces over a million pounds of mushrooms a day. To celebrate this heritage, Kennett Square has an annual Mushroom Festival, where the town shuts down to have a parade, tour mushroom farms, and buy and sell food and other goods. It is also home to the corporate headquarters of Genesis HealthCare which administers elderly care facilities. The local high school is Kennett High School. Its population was 6,072 at the 2010 census.

The Woodlands at Phillips is the retail store for Phillips Mushroom farms. We are in the restored family farmhouse dating back to 1828 offering a large variety of Phillips fresh mushrooms and "everything mushroom". Follow the path of mushrooms to our FREE Mushroom Growing Exhibit and Museum open year round. Check out our website and join our monthly newsletter. We also have an online store on our website.
This was a really fun spur of the moment afternoon. Really interesting to see how mushrooms grow and learn about the history of Kennett Square mushrooms and especially the Phillips family. Gift shop is interesting and has unique gifts. It was wonderful to purchase a variety of fresh mushrooms to take back to New York! Staff was exceptionally helpful and nice. Definitely a stop to make time to visit! Would go back when visiting near Philly to get freshest mushrooms.

Lovely little shop in the heart of beautiful Kennett Square. The staff are friendly and helpful, and they always have some free samples. Great variety of loose teas and tea bags. Black tea, green tea, and rooibos, in many flavors. They carry teacups, teapots, tea cozies, tea towels, and lots of whimsical gifts. FYI: They do not have a place to sit and drink tea, they just sell everything you need to make it at home. Enjoy!
