Kazakhstan (Kazakh: Қазақстан, translit. Qazaqstan, IPA: [qɑzɑqˈstɑn] ( listen); Russian: Казахстан, IPA: [kəzɐxˈstan]), officially the Republic of Kazakhstan (Kazakh: Қазақстан Республикасы, translit. Qazaqstan Respýblıkasy; Russian: Республика Казахстан, tr. Respublika Kazakhstan), is the world's largest landlocked country, and the ninth largest in the world, with an area of 2,724,900 square kilometres (1,052,100 sq mi). Kazakhstan is the dominant nation of Central Asia economically, generating 60% of the region's GDP, primarily through its oil/gas industry. It also has vast mineral resources. Some argue that Kazakhstan may be considered a European country because Kazakhstan's Western region is on the European continent and meets the Council of Europe's criteria for European inclusion.

The Silk Road tour of Kazakhstan covers several oldest historical cities – Otrar, Turkestan and Shymkent. The tour lasts for 2 days. First of all you will learn everything about the Silk Road heritage of South Kazakhstan . The highlight of the trip is an ancient-fortress city of Sauran. The city peacefully stands in the middle of the steppe. Time had completely ruined the city. As a result people started to reconstruct it. For this reason serious excavation works are taking place there. The Great Silk Road played a major role in the development of economic and cultural relations. It covered population of Asia Minor, Central Asia, the Caucasus and China. It served as a corridor for technological, cultural and religious exchange. In 2003 UNESCO has included Mausoleum of Khodja Ahmed Yasawi to the list of the World cultural Heritage. Do you want to learn more about this mausoleum?
Inclusions: Air-conditioned vehicle, All Fees and Taxes, Accommodation 1 night in Turkestan city

I stayed in Astana for several days for business, and had a couple of off days, so I asked locals what to do and I was recommended to go to Borovoe. You could do a one-day trip from Astana or spend a weekend, but it was October, and most attractions are closed, and not many people at the hotels or nearby towns, so I don't see a point of staying for the weekend. You could go by joining a tour (what I found on the internet cost like $250 with everything included), or hiring a car (which is what I did, asking a local friend to find somebody. I paid like $150 for the whole day), or taking a train (I heard it's not the best option if you are time constrained, as you have to go to the station, and the train is slow, and you need to find means of transportation from the nearby station). With a car, it took 2.5 hours to get there. I left at 8:30, arrived there at 11:00, stayed there till 5:30, and came back at 8:00. It was a great one-day trip. Even if it was already off-season, the view from the top of a mountain was breathtaking, and we could rent a boat and get to the rock in the middle of the lake, and we also went to a historical site where Khan was chosen (you could buy souvenirs from one of many shops there or take picture with an eagle there). It is called Kazakh's Switzerland. It's not really Switzerland, but Astana is surrounded by steppe, and this is the closest place from Asta where you can enjoy nature. If you go in summer, there are a lot of activities available (boat, swimming, climbing various mountains, checking out restaurants at the village and the hotels), so you can definitely stay for a weekend. I think the best way to describe the place is to see pictures. I post some.

During this tour you will cross c.1800 km, this is one of the most challenging as well as one of the most adventurous tours! The wondrous region of Mangistau seemingly comes out of sci-fi movies. Vast lands covered in a salt spread as far as an eye can see. Nature used Mangistau as its workshop carving cliffs with wind and rain, painting them with multicoloured chalks. And the jewel of such work is Karyn Zharyk, a depression, the bottom of which is covered in salt-marshes that make the mountains seem to float on a cloud. There is also Tuzbair lake “Salty Walls”. Having a walk on the surface of the lake as if you are a hero of old legends possessing powers mentioned in Bible, and look at the water under you feet separated by a seemingly thin layer of salt. Mangistau is also a land filled with human creations striking in beauty. Underground mosques, historical monuments and remnants of forgotten civilizations are hidden among cliffs and valleys.

I just want to say thank you to ACT for organizing an interesting, comfortable, convenience day trip for me to Burabai, hosted by the brilliant Genghis and our excellent driver Serge. I had one day to go sightseeing outside of Nur-Sultan and this package perfectly aligned with my schedule. Genghis was warm and friendly from the moment he picked me up at our meeting point. Serge whisked us away in a very comfortable and clean car to Burabai. I learned so much during my conversation with Genghis, got to see the awesome natural beauty of the magical green Burabai forest in the middle of the steppe, and made it home in time for a delicious dinner at a restaurant recommended by Genghis and Serge. The day wouldn't have been complete without picking up a delicious jar of honey at a roadside farmer's market. Thank you Genghis and Serge for an amazing day! Kate Liebelt
There are only few nuclear powers in the world, of them only 3 countries allow tourism related to military use of nuclear technology. While in DPRK and USA you'll visit only museums, in Kazakhstan it is possible to visit test sites literally, step on the same land, even walk in the crater of explosion. Within last 30 years a lot of work had been done to clean this land, so largely it is safe to visit even according to very tough Kazakhstan standards. Nevertheless, we will take all measures for safety, including dosimetrist service. What is unique here, is.. everything, literally everything!! Besides, I'll tell you many private stories and a lot of my personal collection of stories and historical anecdotes.
Inclusions: Picnick style lunch is included on the first day. We will have it in the bunker, from which underground test were conducted., Private transportation, Radiation service is included. The modern palaces of the capital are something like a poetic note, flashing among the prosaic infrastructure of Nur-Sultan. You will know the palaces, serving to different aims such as running official state events, forums, congresses as well as holding the University of Arts; all these are gathered in one architectural complex called “The Square of Independence” where you will see the symbol of freedom – the “Kazakh Yeli” (Kazakh Nation) Monument. Moving along the new direction of Nur-Sultan, you will see magnificence of modern constructions under the dome the independent sky, your tour will end with a walk in the President Park.

It was a nice experience. We got a good impression of this young and beautifull capital of Kazakhstan. We was attending a concert of the kazzkh biggest star Dimash - unique singer.
Nur-Sultan is the symbiosis of past and future in present, it is the city where any person has his own vision and opinion on Nur-Sultan. You may find that the capital is a glass city from future, consisting of unusual buildings tailored by the foreign architects – it is the Pyramid, as well as “Khan Shatyr”, which author is Sir Norman Foster; it is the heritage of the EXPO exhibition, the theme was “Future Energy”. The bird Samruk seems to protect the “Independence Square”; sitting on the top of “Kazakh Yeli” Monument, it guards peace and independence and if you just let yourselves day-dream, you could imagine that the bird is flying over the “Palace of Peace and Reconciliation” and taking a rest at the pond in the President’s Park. The “Independence Square” and “Nurzhol” Boulevard are connected by the bridges over the Yesil (Ishim) River, they prolong the “Millennium Axis” in which conventional centre the main monument of the country “Bayterek” is located.
Inclusions: Private transportation, All Fees and Taxes, Entry tickets to all sightseeings

Everyone says that Nur-Sultan is a new city. But what about unforgotten traces of the past, the spirit remained in the streets of the city? Pre-revolutionary houses of the local merchants, soviet buildings of the workers operating in frame of Virgin land campaign – the spirit of the past still presents in air of the city. But if you cross a bridge to the left embankment of the city, you feel that the past is left behind the “glass”, and you plunge into expanses of new sense of the modern architecture. And if we say that the right embankment of Nur-Sultan is a history and building of the capital, then the left embankment is an oasis of new ideas and their implementation. During the tour you will learn about the main attractions of the capital, its history and future prospects. You will have a journey to the old centre of the capital, a square with its palaces, a boulevard of future as well as the heritage of EXPO-2017.
Inclusions: Private transportation, All Fees and Taxes, Tickets to the sightseeings, transfer from/to the hotel
