Relaxing and pristine Kauai (the Garden Island) is the least commercially developed of the Hawaiian islands. Waterfalls, scenic drives and more than 60 beaches dot the landscape. Some beaches have great snorkeling, others offer child-friendly tidal pools and some are perfect for all kinds of water sports. Dry-land activities include hiking the Kalalau Trail on the Na Pali coastline, taking a day trip to Waimea Canyon and experiencing life on a sugar plantation at Grove Farm Homestead Museum.

Coming here is breathtaking. At first, it was overcast then a little drizzle. Well, it's Kauai, so expect rain everyday. Once we reach the lookout, thanked God, weather is cooperating. The sun came out and gave us a phenomenal panoramic view of Kalalau lookout. It was very stunning to see the valley and also see waterfall on the backdrop. Even though, I was not able to see the native I'iwi bird that feeds on the Ohia blossoms, though I saw couple Nene's (endemic to Hawaii) that flew over the lookout. Due to the ongoing COVID-19, there weren't much people here. You have the place to yourself much. And when we were here, there were only 2 other families that came from other island that were visiting the park. Ample parking where you are greeted with wild chickens roaming around. And yes, chickens are all over in the island of Kauai. I adore this place so much because of its natural beauty. Highly recommend to add on your bucket list when visiting Kauai.

We attended 5 PM Mass on a Saturday. The church is lovely, peaceful and almost gives the impression that you are out of doors, because of all the glass. Light and airy. We were welcomed with leis and recognized as visitors, the homily was good and interesting, the lectors did a great job, and the congregation all sang. My special takeaway and food for thought: "We trust Uber to get us where we are going, we trust the doctor when he gives us a prescription, so why do we hesitate to trust God?" A simple concept, but uniquely expressed. Mahalo.

As the larger of Amy's two galleries in Hanapepe, A Gallery holds a wealth of truly talented artists with varied styles and media, all watched over by a passionately helpful and warm staff. Go in just to browse the impressive talent; walk out with a treasure.

Many types of marine birds, identified with good signage - we saw most of them - red footed boobies, albatross, tropic birds, frigate birds, nenes (with babies), and ... chickens(!) Friendly staff at the lighthouse have many good binoculars to lend for adults and children, and topical children's books. Informative tours inside the lighthouse with knowledgable guides (check days and hours). Lighthouse has an interesting history and an awesome original Fresnel 2nd order double bullseye clamshell lens. The 50 steps to the top were manageable on crutches, and there is a shuttle service between parking and the lighthouse for those who need it. Even without the lighthouse this is a very pleasant place to spend time enjoying the ocean view and the birds.

I really enjoyed coming down here during our trip. Lots of good food options from the different stores & many vendors set up to browse about. Don't forget to walk all the way down to see the Lilo & Stitch wall! Mahalo for reading!

We had a fantastic day tour with our driver Chris. He led a very informative and fun tour taking us to locations including Dole Plantation and the Mormon Temple. We had two tours with Roberts Hawaii and both times they were well organised, punctual, and friendly.

The Keahua Arboretum has really evolved into something spectacular over the years. It used to be under construction and difficult to find, but it is now easily accessible and there is a beautiful bridge. It is really serene, and the Rainbow Eucalyptus are a unique sight to see. It is close to Opaekaa Falls, so if you make the trip to the falls, drive about 7 more minutes down the road to see the Rainbow Trees at Keahua Arboretum.
