Christ's Church

The Christ Church Kasauli situated close to the bus stand, was constructed by the the British family who founded the town of Kasauli itself. The church is a magnificent structure built in the shape of a cross. Set amidst a grove of chestnut and fir trees, the church offers quiet and tranquil atmosphere. Earlier the church was known by the name of Anglican Church. In the year 1970, the church was brought under the aegis of the CNI (Churches of North India). It is currently managed by the diocese of Amritsar. The Christ Church is the prime building in the centre of the heritage area of Kasauli town and as one enters the main town, this is the first building which comes to view. This church was previously an Anglican church and was founded in the year 1844,

Monkey Point

So, visited this place in Kasauli. Its located inside an air force station, so the area is quite strict and secure, due to which no electronic devices are permitted inside. Yep.. can't take any photos of the breathtaking view .. ALAS !!.. well that's what made the experience bit more charming. You climb up the flight of stairs (quite a few) running 500 meters uphill and thereafter reach the top. The time to top will easily be 20-25 minutes on average. Do take proper stops and relax while going up. You will be greeted by 10s and 100s of monkeys. All busy in their different activities. Beware, they might want to play/attack you as well. :) Worship in the Hanuman temple on top, which is said to be the spot where His feet touched while he was on his way to fetch Sanjeevani booti for Lord Lakshman when he was injured during the battle of Lanka. The top has a great view of all the adjoining hills and a beautiful peaceful atmosphere to sit and relax. You have a cafe to eat/drink something and then head back down. The entry closes 4.15PM so better reach before hand. Have fun !!
