The Czech Republic's most famed spa destination, Karlovy Vary - or Carlsbad - saw 200 spa houses sprout by the end of the 1500s. The springs in this idyllic, lush, peaceful Tepla valley are said to cure an almanac's worth of metabolic and gastric issues. Visitors still flock to this town of Baroque and Art Nouveau buildings. Five beautiful Colonnades straddle hot springs where visitors try aquatherapy and drink the mineral-rich water. The town also has a respected international film festival.

THE FIRST KARLOVY VARY BEER SPA offers a unique spa procedure that is based on the use of exclusively natural raw materials and ingredients, as well as traditional old-Bohemian healing practices. THE BEER BATH takes place in hand-made, 1000 litre whirlpool tubs made of Royal Oak and it incorporates natural extracts, from which Krušovice® beer is brewed, i.e. brewing yeast, selected varieties of hop, and malt grist. The high content of hop essential oils contributes to purging the skin pores and to revitalizing the whole body, while the brewing yeast, with its high content of vitamin B and active enzymes, has a soothing and regenerating effect on the skin. Thanks to this one of a kind combination of natural ingredients with the magical effects of the royal oak, which has been a symbol of longevity and endurance since time immemorial, the bath procedure boosts your metabolism, washes out harmful substances from your body, relaxes internal and external tension, fatigue.
One of our favorite experiences yet!!! If you are a beer lover, put this on your bucket list immediately. We will be back + recommending to friends and family.

Located on a hill overlooking the region's hottest spring, this church features an 18th century deanery.
This is a small church which was constructed by Lanac Diezenhofer. We were luck on our visit to have the opportunity to listen to a concert.

The country's warmest geothermal spring spouts from a depth of 3,000 meters at a temperature of 73 degrees Celsius.
Out of this fountain, the hot mineral water gushes up to 12 meters high. It is run only by the natural pressure of the water. The water is nearly 75°C hot. Unfortunately, we saw only the outside spring, as the building with the inside fountain was already closed. The water is from the main source of Karlovy Vary mineral waters, which is also used for bathes. When it is windy, the water is spread all over the square and you can breath the air enriched with aerosoles of mineral water. Also just watching the fountain is interesting, as the water gushes not constantly with the same speed and height.

I am a big fan of this glass making manufacturer. This was possibly one of the most memorable museum experiences. The museum is very informative and involves very rare exhibits and beautiful design pieces. The factory itself is a must as well to ad on. Amazing to see hands on the whole process and get information how is it done.

Built in the1970s with a stern communist-concrete aesthetic, the Hot Spring Colonnade (Vridelni kolonada) is nevertheless a good place to begin your visit to the springs of Karlovy Vary. Inside, vendor stands sell the two main items you need to fully experience the scene: a spa cups, in my opinion are the most beautiful in the town, and some wafer cookies Oplatki. Unfortunately, inside the glass atrium, where a natural, steaming geyser should spurts 20 feet into the air was still under reconstruction when we were in September in the town. Inside there are several sources with different temperatures and the hottest in the city at 72 degrees. Good to visit this colonnade in winter time or rainy days, this is a closed building on all sides. Outside colonnade there are wonderful souvenir shops, which also sell inexpensive Czech glass, like glasses, cups and also high-end shops with crystal, vases, chandeliers - the colonnade is located in the very center of the city. Enjoy you visit in beautiful city!

Thai Spa House offering treatments such as Traditional Thai massage, Aromatic Oil massage with a wide selection of natural Thai scent oils, slimming or detoxicating procedures, therapies focused at problematic parts of human body - back, shoulders, neck. Prenatal and post-natal massages and much more. Our mission is to bring you happiness, relax your mind, heal your soul and revitalize your body. We brought the tradition and art of distant Thailand, the country famous as the origin of massages and wellbeing, here to the heart of Europe.
If you are visiting Karlovy Vary as a single day trip or have just a few hours there, this is probably the best place to get a massage. The location is great, just 50m from Mill Colonnade (there are some stairs though - access not suitable for people with disabilities). A day before the visit, make sure to check if there are any discount vouchers available in the Tawan massage centers site. We were lucky to walk in and get a treatment, but if you can plan for it, definitely make an appointment, to avoid being left out. Interior is pleasant and well equipped, staff very professional. Enjoy!
