What to do and see in Kapolei, Hawaii (HI): The Best Things to do Good for Kids

April 1, 2022 Marlin Saiz

Kapolei, named for the volcanic cone Pu'u o Kapolei (loosely meaning "hill of beloved Kapo"), is locally known as Oahu's "second city" after Honolulu. Built on former sugarcane and pineapple plantations, Kapolei is an affluent and vibrant city that is growing rapidly. It has an ever-changing urban scene as well as the Ko Olina resort and marina community and the Disney Aulani Resort. Sportsmen can play a round of golf at the Ko Olina Golf Club before a sophisticated evening on the town.

Hokua Beach Supply

We are Kapolei's premiere water sports and beach gear rental service. We provide affordable snorkel, stand up paddle board, surf, and beach gear rental and delivery to all of Oahu's west side beaches including Ewa Beach, Ko'olina, Pokai Bay, Makaha and Yokohama Bay!

Had the top notch snorkel gear delivered by Jason to my wife and I right to the snorkel spot we were starting at, and kept it for five days to snorkel around Oahu. Slight hiccup on drop off (the resort employees didn’t want to hold onto the gear for pickup, even though it sounded like Hokua Beach Supply comes twice a day for pickups and drop offs). Even then, Jason picked it up from me right at the resort we were staying at the next morning. If planning to drop off your gear somewhere without meeting up directly, make sure beforehand that it will work, or make sure you have time to arrange a direct meet up. They are flexible on the location and the times, and you can’t beat having quality gear delivered to you and picked up in a prompt and professional manner.

Our family really enjoyed the entire experience!! From the excellent food, to the musicians, hula dancers, and the fire dancers, we enjoyed the entire show!! As someone who was able to bring his family together for this trip after not being close for the last 2-3 years, the speech at the end about family, love, and the importance of those ideas in the Hawaiian culture, it was especially meaningful!! Thank you all!!!

These lagoons are so beautiful and create a spot for enjoying the the water in a safe place. Definitely good for families with children! There is a chapel at the first one, right beside the Disney Resort where sometimes you may catch a glimpse of a wedding party!! Akso, as you approach the lagoon ares, you will pass by the golf course and please look for the black swans in the water on the course!! Wonderful and unusual to see!!!
