Fo Guang Shan Buddha Museum

The Buddha Museum (formerly Buddha Memorial Center) was constructed with the intention of the construction commenced in 2001 enshrining the Buddha's relic and lasted for ten years. It was officially opened on the 25th December 2011.

We arrived by taxi and left by E20 bus. The museum is arranged as an entrance building with shops and food vendors, then 8 pagodas (some of which were closed), then the main hall crowned by an enormous Buddha statue. We did not see the Buddha tooth relic, but visited four stupas at the top level. After a nice vegetarian lunch, we took a free shuttle van up to the monastery, and walked back through the grounds to the entrance. We were impressed by the grounds which are well kept.

factory is pretty huge.If you like industrial and trains, this is a cool spot to visit, but there is not much English guide , but you can walking round an old train station and dock yard and there is a lot of public art,it is very cool. someone will say, here is nothing to see and there is no English guide, so it is worst place to visit.i will say it is depends on what is your interest and travel attitudes. i have been travel over 40 nations, sometimes they only have local language, but for me is fine. of course they have English guide is better, you can know more about it, but i will say is still value to visit.

The last train left the city’s oldest train station in 2008. Now, it is a museum devoted to telling the story of rail travel in Taiwan. Entrance to the railway museum is free. Enter the museum to browse its various locomotives that date back many decades. Capture photos of the models and imagine traveling in these outdated trains. See the old-fashioned steam engines on display. We enjoyed seeing the few locomotives, the empty tracks and a place for local artist to display their art.
