Always a pleasure to have a few drinks there ! The owner is super nice, speaks english (since he's been living in the States for quite some time) and has a great selection of drinks, spirits etc. You always met cool guys here, locals as well as travelers, who enjoy sharing their stories and love to chat with foreigners ! The atmosphere is very enjoyable, retro, with a nicely balanced mix of American and Japanese influences ! Highly recommended ! またねマスター!!!

A direct-managed store of Fukumitsuya, the oldest sake brewery making great sake since 1625 in Kanazawa. We brew our renowned Junmai sake using only premium sake rice and the purest groundwater that has been filtered underground from Mt. Hakusan for over a century. We take pride in employing the traditional sake-brewing techniques that have been passed down and polished from generation to generation. FUKUMITSUYA HIGASHI proposes various products from rice fermentation from sake and traditional foods to cosmetics. Come and partake in a rare opportunity to taste our exquisite sakes and some sweets like Amazake and Sakekasu soft ice cream and find the perfect one for your personal palate.

Shijimaya-honpo is founded in the year of Meiji 8(1875) as a soy sauce shop at Izumino Village, where the beautiful underground water coming from Hakusan gushes out. Ever since, we have been making fermented food deeply rooted in local culture including soy sause, Miso, Koji, Kabura-zushi, Daikon-zushi, etc. One of our main products Kabura-zushi is a traditional winter delicacy of Kanazawa. These days we do not only to sell the delicacies, also having workshop to learn how to make the Kabura-zushi, Japanese swords guide or small cafe to enjoy the fermented food. Please feel free to visit us and enjoy the fermented food and food culture in Kanazawa.
