Raven's Heart Gallery represents established and emerging artists from the region and beyond. We show "art with heart, expressing kindness and compassion for all life". Raven's Heart Gallery is owned by Photographer Gary Kalpakoff and Artist Cyrus Mejia (co-founder of Best Friends Animal Society).
This beautiful art gallery is in the center of town and co-owned by one of the founders of Best Friends Animal Sanctuary. The photography collection is excellent as are all the art by local artists. We did end up buying an expensive painting.

The Kanab Heritage House Museum, also called the Jewel of Kanab, preserves and brings to life the rich customs and traditions of southern Utah. Built in1894, the Heritage House is a Victorian era home constructed In the Queen Anne style. Upon its completion, original owner Henry Bowman proclaimed he had built the “first modern home in Kane County”. The Kanab Heritage House Museum is a timeless work of art that now showcases the rich history of Kanab and its people. The museum interior is complete with many period and original furnishings. Tours last approximately 30-45 minutes and will immerse you in the cultural history and heritage of Southern Utah. Please check our website for current hours and closings.
Made the reservation online and it worked perfectly. You can use your phone to scan barcodes for exterior and interior rooms (the upstairs is closed). They are clearly being careful due to COVID-19, which we appreciated. The volunteer who let us in was friendly, engaging and knowledgeable. It is such an interesting bit of history with photos and period furnishings. Highly recommended!

At Blacksmith Adventures we provide a hands-on introduction to the age-old craft of blacksmithing through one hour to half day experiences. We have seven different classes for you to choose from. Great group, date-night, family fun. Safety gear is provided. Come flirt with fire and forge memories as you forge your own keepsake project. Young, old, male, female eveyone succeeds at Blacksmith Adventures. Located just 3 miles from the city center of Kanab, Utah on Hwy 89a.
This was a fabulous experience from beginning to end. We made a bottle opener, learning how to use the tools and the forge and received personalized instruction every step of the way. The session was fun and informative and we liked the work so much we had a personalized sign made for a very reasonable price when we were done. Well worth the time and cost for something uniquely different.

Eric A's review is right on the money. This is one of the best visitor information centers I've been to- and I've been to a lot! The one story building is very unassuming from the outside, unlike most state welcome centers along the interstates, so I wasn't expecting much, maybe a Festus type character (Gunsmoke TV series reference) and a couple of maps or even some free coffee. Well, no Festus and no coffee but the place is jam packed with racks of maps and other information for everything under the sun. The guy on duty the evening I stopped in let me look around on my own and offered help only when I asked, which I appreciated. I had a list of places I wanted to see and he suggested some others I wasn't aware of, so it was a productive visit. The flyers for each route and destination are full color and have pictures that are numbered in the order you encounter them on your drive or hike and also include the precise mileage from your starting point and which side of the road or trail it is on. One place I specifically came through Kanab to see was the old set of the Gunsmoke TV western series (5.4 miles north of highway 89 on Johnson Canyon Road on the right). Several of the buildings have fallen down just in the last year, so there's not much left of the marshal's little town now. There are many other things to see just on that drive, and we went all the way to the end of the pavement at the Grand Staircase Escalante national monument. Took some other drives as well with all the flyers I picked up.

An Ancient history museum inside a natural sandstone Cave. Come check out our dinosaur tracks, fossils, artifacts and much much more!
Such an interesting place, once a bar and dance hall to now housing geological specimens that I wish I could have one of each! Such a great gift shop with rocks and gemstones presented in a neat fashion including showing them off under black lights. There is even dinosaur poop on display! Don't miss the old bar in the back and notice the fascinating cave that shows the multiple layers of rock in the area. I could spend hours at Moqui Cave.

We were looking for Kanab sweatshirts before we left town. This store has a lot of cool items in it. We got a great puzzle, a bicycle clock and a few other little nick nacks. They have a lot of t-shirt options that are what you expect and some humorous tshirts. The gentleman working so very kind and helpful. Be sure to check out the saddle and read the framed letter by it.
