This private tour picks you up in Siem Reap and takes you out to the 7th century temples at Sambor Prei Kuk. These limestone temples are even older than those by Angkor Wat, and were built by King Citrasena Mahendravarman of Funan in the pre-Angkorian era. Aside from their age and fascinating history, some of the temples are covered in tree roots—making for excellent photos—and your guide will tell you all about the area's ancient past.

Inclusions: Hotel pickup and drop-off, Private tour, Transport by air-conditioned car, Local English speaking guide, Cold towel and water, Addmission fee for Sambor Preikuk

Exclusions: Meals, Personal expenses, Gratuities

It was a great experience for seeing Angkor temples in the hard time of Covid-19. We booked the package just 12 hours before the tour started and the operator was really quick to respond us. We were actually 4 people with payment of 40s US$, this is the nicest price ever. Great driver with air-conditioned car, Ben was really great and he also giving us some information of Angkor (not just a driver). Thank you Ben and we' will see you again next year.

We started our tour at the war museum. It was really good and informative. You learn a lot about the Khmer Rouge and what they did. It is a horrible story, but very interesting if you like history. The tanks, weapons, grenades and the helicopter was really cool to see in person. The killing fields was disappointing. The only thing to see are the monument with skulls, which is pretty dark and really reminds you how bad this war was to the Cambodian people. The Artisans Angkor was so cool. You really get to see how they make sculptures with stone, tree and other materials. Really worth a visit! Overall, I would recommend this trip to everyone who visit Siem Reap.

I strongly recommend not to fly and instead take a private car. The journey provides a unique view of Cambodia. Our driver Davies was first class. He had good english and was very courteous. Davies stopped the car on 2 occasions to see local site, the spider market and Spean Praptos (bridge). The lunch stop was at a good, well priced and clean roadside restaurant.

Discover the rarely visited remains of the Sambor Prei Kuk complex and the ancient bridge at Spean Praptos. Sambor Prei Kuk was once the second capital of the Chenla Kingdom (late 6th to 9th century), then known as Isanapura. The buildings are characteristic of the Pre-Angkorean period with a simple external plan. The principal material is brick, but sandstone is also used for certain structures. Architectural features include numerous prasats, octagonal towers, shiva lingams and yonis, ponds and reservoirs, and lion sculptures. Sambor Prei Kuk is located amidst mature sub-tropical forests with limited undergrowth. Spean Praptos was once the longest corbeled stone-arch bridge in the world. The bridge was built in the 12th century during the reign of King Jayavarman VII. It is one of the few Khmer empire era bridges to have survived to the modern day.
