When visiting a region, we value opportunities to know more about the people and places we see. This site provided both--a legend held to by the Nez Perce (we listened to the recorded story at the first stop along the paved trail) and enjoyed a panoramic view of mountains, grassy valley, and blue river. Kamiah was a lovely stopover for us and this was a highlight (though the "hike" was short to the Clearwater River and back to the highway historical marker).
