The Conrad Mansion Museum is located in Kalispell's east side residential area atop a bluff overlooking the valley and the Swan mountain range. The home sits on three landscaped acres, surrounded by a dry stone fence with iron gates. Six large annual flower beds and extensive ever-blooming perennial beds provide constant color during the summer season, with pruned hedges, evergreens, and spacious lawns serving as a lush background. MISSION To preserve and exhibit the 1895 Charles Conrad Family Estate through public tours, educational programs, and community events.
Everything about this place makes your jaw drop.. From the vision of the early builders to furnish this mansion with pulley systems for laundry, counter weighted elevators, antique time period furniture, gun collections to toys of the children at the time.. This place is a time machine to the past with a twist.. Our guide was superb, knows the history, details and drama of the place.. Antique Roadshow should showcase his place!! What an amazing find in downtown Kalispell.. Keep eating and traveling.. Rolly H..

We took the time to ride around the complete lake. It is 27 miles long and 15 miles wide. The depth is over 500 feet. It is the largest fresh water lake west of the Mississippi. It was very impressive. We started on the East side along Why 35. Not very much to see and do there but lots of beautiful homes. The West shore is where most of the towns and shops are. This is on highway 93. Polson has a fun and interesting downtown area with lots of shops. There are boat trips available but we did not have time.

Excellent Park and perfect for sunrise and picnics. We really enjoyed it and the gentle trails. Family nice place and great to visit and see all of Kalispell, part of Lake Flathead, Glacier and on up the valley toward Whitefish.

This primitive park, which can only be reached by boat, is home to wild horses and other animals.
Apparently the state limits the number of horses on the island to five. We circled the entire island by boat and saw no wildlife. Services on the island are limited to one composting toilet a long hike in from the shore. Very undeveloped in terms of a state park.

Free changing exhibits and galleries of regional art, housed in a former Carnegie Library.
I was extremely impressed by the Hockaday Museum, which specializes in high quality Fine Art (that is, representational / impressionist / realist - not the modern art another reviewer seemed to be looking for! There are plenty of other places for that!) The exhibit I saw was called "A Timeless Legacy" and focused on women artists depicting Glacier National Park. The quality ranged from very good to absolutely outstanding. The Hockaday itself is located in a beautiful old building, conveniently close to historic central Kalispell. I look forward to returning again in the future, and highly recommend it for lovers of quality art.

Central School Museum is a nice spot for visitors and locals to see vintage displays and photos concerning history of the area. The grounds and school are nicely maintained and the exhibits are informative. Easy walking distance to main street and downtown locations. 2 large rooms upstairs often are used for various social and group functions.

Every year I stay across the street from this park, and every year I enjoy it more. The park is host to many activities providing a great opportunity to enjoy the outdoors. The bike and walking path allows for a great after dinner stroll as spring comes to Kalispell. It is entertaining to watch the ducks and geese waddle along, swim and squawk and enhanced by young children chase and feed them. Watching the goings on at the skate park are equally amazing. The children's playground serves as a great place for supervised kids to play including swings, slides and jungle gyms. In addition there are pavilions and BBQ grills to enjoy an evening or weekend cook out. A pool and the water slide make for great warm weather fun.

A recreational fishing area.
Good Variety of fishing! Bass for fun fishing or Perch for Eating. Great camping either in the state park with hook ups or the other side of the lake in more primitive settings. Wonderful hiking trails on the south side of the lake. Camp, explore and have some great family fun!

This could be such a great place for racing... but can't find a way to make it consistent.
The best part about this track is that they do race there. Great scenery. Rocky Mountains as a backdrop... but the management refuses to allow a good time for their customers...

While staying in Kalispell I have the opportunity to attend this church. There have even been years where I attend Easter Sunday Mass.
The church was built in 1910 and represents the old style Catholic Church. The inside is beautifully designed with a simple but magnificent alter. The alter is flanked by the two chapels of Saint Mary and Saint Joseph. True to tradition, the sides are graced by intricately detailed stained glass windows. There is a small loft suitable for the choir or small group of parishioners and is backed by large stained glass windows. This is worth some time for anyone with religious, historical or architectural interest.
