Take a quick ferry ride to Mount Sakurajima, a smoldering volcano, Or, if you prefer to view active volcanoes from a more comfortable distance, stop at one of the many lookout points around the city. (Siroyama Observatory is a good choice.) Finally, if there’s anything better than a foot bath after a long day of sightseeing, it’s a free foot bath after a long day of sightseeing… and you can enjoy one at Sakurajima Nagisa Foot Bath Park.

Shirakawa-go is recognized by UNESCO as a world heritage site for being a village with houses made in the historical "gassho-zukuri" architecture (thatched roof house). This is an area where you can feel the magnificent nature and old lifestyle culture with Hirase-onsen where the onsen source comes from the foot of sacred mountain Hakusan. This private tour will help to make your trip an unforgettable one.

We cancelled the tour in advance and have NEVER been refunded the payment, my advice to anybody is to avoid at all costs this tour
This is a walking tour to visit the historic sites of a samurai residential area with a history of over 400 years. This is not a famous tourist destination, so it is rare to see tourists. From Kagoshima Chuo Station, take a local line and go to a small town called “Kire” in the suburbs. From the train window, you can get a glimpse of ordinary people's lives and beautiful views of Kagoshima Bay. After arriving at Kiiri Station, take a community bus to the Samurai House Ruins. Then visit the shrine on the old fort hill, the cemetery of the lord's clan, and a beautiful little creek, then return to Kiiri Station and disband. If you want to go to the Ibusuki area in the afternoon, you can take a train at Kiiri Station. This tour will have a maximum of 8 travelers. Children must be over 6years old.
Inclusions: guide fee
Exclusions: JR Train Fare, Lunch
Kagoshima’s food culture is always with fermentation. The warm climate gives the variation of the unique food culture. Kurozu, Kagoshima miso, Yamagawa zuke (Daikon radish pickles), Shochu… there are many kinds of fermented food. Whisky is one of them. There are 2 whisky distilleries in Kagoshima,”MARS Tsunuki Distillery” and “KANOSUKE Distillery”. The history of making whiskey in Kagoshima is not that long but those companies are the specialists of making good quality liquor. The quality of whisky turns out unique and special due to the climate of Kagoshima. Why don’t we go and see how they are making their whisky?

We are a group of five people from Hong Kong for the first time visiting Kagoshima. We joined various tours arranged by Tabitto as we want to experience more about Kagoshima other than shopping. The most remarkable are the tram night and tea & distillery experience. Personally, I love taking tram in Hong Kong because we can enjoy the view and the time well spent with friends. At tram night, we also met other participants came from Hong Kong! It is recommended to join the tram night either meeting new friends or enjoy the delicious food with Kagoshima specialties. We also visited Whisky distillery and Shochu distillery. That was pretty impressive too as to know and experience something you can't see it easily in your own city. And the Tea ceremony was such a wonderful experience to admire how much they care and preserve their own culture. To sum up, great experience, great people, great foods ! Had a wonderful time experiences well prepared by Tabitto !!!

Of the many options for tourists to Kagoshima, perhaps the most unique is getting up close and personal with live volcanoes--some so active that certain hiking trails are closed. Expect to hear a rumble and to feel the ground shake from the daily eruptions. Let us know what you would like to experience and we will customize a four-hour tour that's best for you! Note*1: Please select your must-see spots from a list in the tour information to create your customized itinerary. Note*2: The Nationally-licensed Tour Guide-Interpreter certification is issued by the Japanese government requires a good knowledge and understanding of Japanese culture and history.
Inclusions: Free Photos, Hotel Pick up and Drop-off, Licensed Local Guide
Exclusions: Other personal expenses, Entrance fee (for yourself), Transportation fee (for yourself and your guide), Lunch (for yourself and your guide), Private transportation
The flexibility to chose locations that suited our wants and abilities was great. Hiro San was very quick to put together an itinerary that accommodated a family with a stroller-baby (no monkey park due to long unpacked walking paths). Taking in the beautiful temples and view of the Kyoto from the west was breath taking and the guide was able to explain many things we as new Japanese learners could not read or know through cultural knowledge. Overall a great experience, a wonderful and lively guide, and some great memories.
