Gorilla Highlands Tours is part of the Gorilla Highlands Initiative, started in 2011 by a Lake Bunyonyi-based social enterprise Edirisa. The name “Gorilla Highlands” comes from the unique selling point of the region shared by Rwanda, Uganda and DR Congo, however, we go far beyond primates. We wish to open this fascinating transboundary area to responsible tourists, domestic and international. We want respectful travel to benefit local communities as much as possible while conserving the natural and cultural environment.

We are the very first Island from the mainland and with the dynamic and unique High Ropes being also the very first in the region. It's a haven away from home with thrilling sites and uncountable species of birds. We serve meals both local & international delicacies, tree houses & tents for cozy accommodation settings. Experience to belief.

A lovely quiet authentic place. We stayed 1 night at Toms Place and what a lovely character of a person. The Birdsnest hotel has amazing in-house artists and worth going to see Martin and Ivan’s art as well as a beer in the deck. Owen Bright our tour guide exceeded expectations.
