Lucked out with a perfect sunny, cloudless day for this simply stunning route. Was a bit nervous reading some reviews as I only had running shoes and clothing (and a small back pack with thin sweater and water/snacks). Climb out of Lauterbrunnen to Wengen is sharp but lovely - in the trees but regular gaps to see the incredible Lauterbrunnen valley and waterfalls. Once in pretty Wengen, it was a beautiful hike/run along above the valley all the way eventually to Kleine Scheidegg, passing a few train stops and info signs for exhilarating ski runs. The views of the Jungfrau, Monch and Eiger - as well as countless other snow peaked beauties and look backs down to the valley were incredible throughout. After some rest and drink/food in Kleine Scheidegg, it was a short walk/run up to Eigergletscher station, which is nestled right under the start of the Eiger Trail. I was advised there was snow still in a round a dozen gullies on the path - so was a little early in my well worn grip running shoes. But that, and the scree elements were very easy with just some basic care when crossing those short sections (usually 10-20 careful side steps were enough.) I can imagine earlier in year it would be quite different, and require better equipment and boots - and also on a different day in heavy wind/rain would be a totally different prospect - so carefully consider weather, as well of course your fitness. But there were many others of varying fitness and hiking experience out there, so I think on a sunny day in mid-summer it’s a very doable trail as long as reasonably fit. The traverse under the Eiger’s north face is incredible - watching the rock climbers above was breathtaking! A few short, steep ups and downs, but nothing overly taxing in each of those and the path is well defined and worn-in throughout. Amazing waterfall just before main descents start before Alpiglen. From there, it’s a long, steady and at times fairly steep descent for many km’s into Grindelwald - could be difficult if you have knee or ankle issues, but fun otherwise. Can’t recommend enough for a few hours to see some of the most incredible and varied scenes in the world! Again, just consider the weather, your fitness, time of year, equipment/gear needed and water/snacks. Have fun ????????

Summer Sledding Mannlichen Enjoy +6 km exciting and safe sledding fun. Ride the unique Summer Gemel sled down Mount Mannlichen. Zoom past smooth slopes and green meadows full of wild flowers and fluttering butterflies. Feel alive and free amid one the most amazing alpine scenery. All it takes are solid shoes and fitted outdoor cloths. Everything else is taken care of. Due to the construction of the new cable car on the mount Mannlichen (2019) we are not running this summer. But we'll be opening up again in May 2020 with a refurbished race track - Yeah! See you then again. P.S. If you want to get the T-Shirt, Cap or Badge, you can still do so on www.summergemel.ch The Summer Gemel Pit Crew

It takes you just 32 minutes by Cable car to reach the summit of the 2970 m high Schilthorn. Enjoy the beautiful view of Eiger, Monch and Jungfrau (UNESCO World Heritage) and on more than 200 other summits.
The Schilthorn on a cool clear day you really can see what looks for ever. Schilthorn is magnificent and view from the restaurant Piz Gloria is excellent well matching it’s beautiful setting.

Just mounting from the "lowlands" which are covered with fog up to the brighter aeras with blue sky and white fields, impressive mountains!

He painted the Jungfrau and the Schynige Platte, but Ferdinand Hodler never committed Lake Bachalpsee to canvas. The glacial water reflecting the Schreckhorn in the calm air would have been entirely in keeping with the taste of the well-known symbolist. Many others discovered the beauty of the "blue jewel". Lake Bachalpsee travels around the world as a postcard. However: no photo are able capture the radiance of the lake. You need to go there and see it for yourself. That doesn't require much effort. Lake Bachalpsee can be reached from First on foot in less than an hour.
Bachalpsee is an extremely scenic lake and can be reached by an easy hike from First. Definitely worth visiting.

Swiss Alps are breathtaking, all worth it...ready for my next adventure. The Alpine region of Switzerland, conventionally referred to as the Swiss Alps, represents a major natural feature of the country and is, along with the Swiss Plateau and the Swiss portion of the Jura Mountains, one of its three main physiographic regions
