What to do and see in Jung-gu, South Korea: The Best Performances

January 22, 2022 Agatha Simes

Seoul is the business and cultural hub of South Korea, where skyscrapers tower over Buddhist temples. Take it all in from the N Seoul Tower, built atop a peak in Namsan Park. The teahouses and shops of Insadong give you a taste of Korean flavor, which you can further experience with a visit to the grounds and museums of Gyeongbokgung. UNESCO World Heritage Site Changdeokgung Palace is a fine example of authentic ancient architecture.

I’m not really a fan of plays or the theatre, so I was really surprised how much I enjoyed Cookin’ NANTA. There is some interaction with the audience (don’t worry if you don’t understand Korean; it’s all based on gestures and expressions). My daughter was chosen to go on stage and be part of an act, which I guess made it even more fun. I’d go see it again. A truly fun time for all ages and nationalities.
