100 years ago, the Rozentheater was Amsterdam’s first megabioscoop, a 1000 seat movie palace with two balconies and a state of the art projection booth. For the roaring 20’s and beyond, the people of de Jordaan, sat spellbound in their seats while the mighty projector shined fantasy on the silver screen. Your journey will begin in the projection booth. Start the projector and enter the movies!

You will be surrounded by real 17th century props! STEP STRAIGHT INTO THE 17th CENTURY and have your picture taken as Vermeer’s The Milkmaid, Girl with the Pearl, as Rembrandt or his son Titus, as William of Orange (by Adriaen Thomasz Key) or as many others. Choose a single portrait or let your whole family pose as the famous civil guards portraits of Rembrandt or Frans Hals. Choose one out of more than 50 fantastic 17th Century costumes (all sizes). You will also learn a lot about living and painting in the 17th Century but let's not forget, it's a lot of fun too! And you leave Amsterdam with a extremely valuable memory!

Our residents include European and word magic champions, TV magicians and we regularly book international star stage magicians as guests. Some of magic's biggest stars have appeared on our stage. After the show... the show goes on! We will supply tunes, get a drink at the bar and stay for our magical after-party. The magicians will kick back with you and share some of their most cutting edge new magic - hush-hush, after-hours and strictly off the record.
