Johor Bahru City Square

Strategically located in the heart of the city and only a stone's throw from the customs and immigration checkpoint, Johor Bahru City Square stands out as a central landmark in JB. With its more than 200 retailers, it offers a host of fashion, entertainment and restaurants. All catered to wow the senses and satisfy the needs. Rush in when the doors open at 10am for breakfast, then head out and start your shopping adventure of clothes, shoes, bags, trinklets, toiletries, electronic toys. Everything the heart desires. Unique to Johor Bahru City Square is the Inner City, an eclectic mix of smallish fashion and accessory shops plus restaurants housed in a tight, quaint setting. Always a firm favorite of the "NOW" generation. After many hours of shopping, rest the feet in one of the numerous restaurants and cafes or indulge in a soothing foot massage, then go on to treat the rest of the body at a salon.

Arulmigu Sri Rajakaliamman Glass Temple

Reviewed By macedonboy - Glasgow, United Kingdom

The Arulmigu Sri Rajakaliamman Glass Temple is a Hindu temple and reputedly the oldest in Malaysia. From the exterior, it’s an innocuous looking South Indian style temple with a gopuram. Inside the temple looks far more elaborate as it’s completely decorated in glass and glass mosaic. The decoration looks heavily influenced by Thai Buddhist temples, except that this temple has taken the glass to the extreme of having the glasswork everywhere. Other than the eye catching glassworks, the temple is fairly typical of Hindu temples with statues of deities dotted around the temple. Surprisingly, the temple also has sculptures of figures from religions including Christianity and Buddhism. Overall, a pretty temple with eye-catching interiors. The temple is to the north of the city centre and can be a pain to get to, especially if walking. I thought it was worth it nevertheless.

Legoland Malaysia

This was a most amazing day and definitely one off the bucket list. If your kids are a fan of LEGO then this theme park will blow them away. The rides are so much fun as are the different areas. Personal favourites were Miniworld where there are LEGO replicas of famous sites around Asia and the Star Wars exhibit where they recreate a famous scene from each of the first six movies. Plenty of dining options around the park with the pricing being quite reasonable. Our favourite ride was the Adventure Land boat drop where you do get very wet at the end of the ride, be warned. Overall a brilliant day and one we will repeat in the future!
