This beautiful art gallery opened on the Courthouse Square in Johnson City in 2005, featuring a stunning collection of contemporary fine art by over 30 established Texas artists. The largest wine selection in the county offers wines by the taste, glass, bottle or case. Besides the main gallery there is a lovely tree lined, 1/3 acre creek-side sculpture garden. This antique store is a regular stop for us. It's clean, smells great, has a great selection of cool stuff and their prices beat the heck out of the other stores in the surrounding areas! Don't be fooled by the small storefront, it's very large and deep and features over 30 vendors!

There were thirteen of us that toured the winery today. We’ve been to a lot of The so called Vineyards around Fredericksburg. This little family owned vineyard had nine acres of all different kinds of grapes. The owner Margaret was awesome in educating us on so many of the steps and hard work it takes to make a great glass of wine. The property is beautiful. You can bring a picnic lunch and sit in the shade while you enjoy a glass of wine. Well worth the $30 we each paid for this tour and tasting. Thank you Margaret! We will come again.

We booked a tasting in advance and were surprised when we showed up and had the place to ourselves! It was nice to sample all of their wines and chat with the wine maker. We left with a few bottles and would’ve bought more if we weren’t flying home. If you are looking for quality wines in the Fredericksburg area, make a reservation at Lewis wines! You won’t be disappointed!

Man was this place great. So many cool rooms / activities for kids of all ages, big kids too, like me!! Huge tortoises outside, a cool dinosaur dig and very interesting chain reaction ball thingy among others. The old mill silos inside each have been turned into their own cool rooms, one is a big led display that reacts to the waves sent out by your cell phone, another one is has a giant multicolored crystalline structure for a ceiling, very cool! There is also a toddler area where you can watch movies and build your own racecar and race them. This place is a lil boy's dream, very awesome find in the Johnson City!

290Vinery is a winery and tasting room. We feature wines from Texas and the world for tastings, by the glass, bottle & wine club. We make wine from our own Estate Tempranillo and Tannat Vines in addition to purchasing Texas grapes from the hardworking High Plains and Hill Country Farmers. We are also proud to serve other Texas wines from across the state. Our 290Vinery wines are 100% Texas grown.
