We had a wonderful afternoon cooking with Rekha in her home. She taught us the basics of cooking with Indian spice and herbs and we learnt about the types of Ayurvedic cooking and the preferred style of Sattvic cooking. We found this to be eye opening and it will surely benefit us ordering meals at restaurants in the future and making our own food. In the class we prepared and enjoyed enjoyed Chai, aloo Gobi and paneer curries, briyani and raita that we prepared with fresh ingredients. The food was some of the best we have had on our entire trip. We finished off with a delicious saffron lassi! Highly recommend this experience.

My first day at Jodhpur was to visit the clock tower market . Read good review about shops there n a highly recommended to visit Ali Baba House. I was welcomed by the owner himself Ganesh . A friendly natured person with full of smiles n welcomes you with a big heart n a cup of Chai ☕️. He has a wide range of foods for such a small shop n I bought quite a bit of stuffs for a good deal . He even took time to show me how to check original pashmina shawls to the fake ones . He has my thumbs up ????????

Experience the flavour of Rajasthan with our talented chef in a 2-3 hour workshop. Learn to cook ten traditional dishes in a clean, well equipped kitchen.
We were recommended this cooking class from other travellers who had been to Jodhpur, who said it was a must do. We decided to take part in a class, and we are glad we did. We had so much fun, Rekha was amazing, shes an incredibly talented cook and a very funny lady. You get to make some absolutely delicious Indian food, some snacks, several curries, lassi, chai ect.... it was a fantastic experience and I’ll be recommending it to anyone who’s going to jodhpur.

What a nice moment we spent with the “lentil guy”, a well known miniature painting teacher in Jodhpur. He’s passionate and wants to offer his knowledge to most of people he meet so typical Indian art will follow future generations. He guided us for a 4h course (slow learners, it can be 2h). And it’s a FREE course. He also have a huge collection of his students’ miniatures. So if you’re interested, it’s the city to try, and this place to go !

No pressure to buy but a very persuasive pitch which probably has more than a modicum of truth about it. As with all places in India negotiation begins with you walking away if they don’t significantly move from their first price.
