Fish Pond Lake is a pristine man-made lake, located one mile west of Payne Gap off U.S. 119 in Jenkins, KY. Once the site of a mining camp, the valley was dammed and flooded in 1961 to create this shining centerpiece of the 895-acre Little Laurel Park. It has ATV trail access. The lake is home to freshwater jellyfish, a resident trout population, bass, catfish and other Kentucky species.

Enjoy one of Kentucky’s most breathtaking 18-hole golf courses, a beautiful marriage of the handiwork of man and nature. Opened in 1995 as a 9-hole layout and expanded eight years later, Raven Rock is part of a remarkable strip mine reclamation project that encompasses some 2,000 acres in southeastern Kentucky. The Pine Restaurant and Bar also provides great food and drinks for everyone

We thoroughly enjoyed our visit here. The lady working was very informative and funny. The pictures were great, but thumbing through the binders and seeing pictures of the men in the mines was so humbling. Unbelievable the working conditions. Makes you appreciate things a lot more.
Combs Overlook, named for well-known Kentucky State Police Trooper Bennett David Combs, who died in August 2014 after a long illness. He was 55. The overlook gives views of Jenkins' beautiful mountains, Raven Rock Golf Course and one of the most beautiful place to watch a sunset in the Appalachian mountains.
