I took my granddaughter here. She enjoyed feeding the fish that ranged from minnow size to release size. We also enjoyed the informational museum. Some wild animals on display, like the skunk. Small gift shop inside as well. Free informational guides inside of museum on various different wildlife. It was a good place to visit.

Food and service were fantastic. We had a party of 20 people, and the establishment did everything to accommodate our family. The menu is loaded and at a reasonable price. Would highly recommend stopping if your at the park. Portions are large, and you won't regret it.

Nestled in the beautiful southern hills of Kentucky, Lake Cumberland State Dock provides everything you need for a perfect vacation or just a weekend getaway. Because we are located inside one of Kentucky’s premier State Parks, State Dock can offer more vacation possibilities than any other location on Lake Cumberland.
My wife and I, as well as three other couples rented an 800 series houseboat from State Dock. For a very reasonably priced, "after Labor Day" rate, we enjoyed a fantastic four day vacation experience on Lake Cumberland! We enjoyed the very spacious and luxurious houseboat, which came with a kayak, because we signed up early enough at a local boat show promotional. We did take our own fishing boat with us, so that we could venture out from our houseboat, to fish. In addition to the expected microwave and refrigerator, we had a dishwasher, stove with oven, washing machine and dryer, and a very decent gas grill. The houseboat had central air as well as an abundance of ceiling fans. Although there were plenty of dishes and cups, we were hard pressed to find a single sharp meat knife. Since I am a bit of a coffee snob, I called to inquire about the on board coffee maker. I was advised that the boat came with a drip coffee maker and filters. Upon arrival, I found the coffee maker but it came with only five filters. I guess their assumptions were that one pot a day was enough! Ha! Lucky I brought my own "french press" and premium coffee beans! The spacious hot tub on the upper deck worked well and could quickly be refilled via lake water pumped into it. It took a bit of time to find a captain to initially back us out of our slip, but we passed the time waiting, by swatting the many house flys that had come on board between renter groups. Although we were quite easily able to tie up for the night, the extremely steep banks and sometimes lack of accessible trees could make this virtually impossible for those who may not be able-bodied enough to scamper up the banks to do this. We ran our generator the entire time and never ran out of electricity. We used two of the six bedrooms for storage and were well accommodated by the two full bathrooms. Be sure to buy a good nautical map of the lake, as the one furnished was s bit skimpy on information. Be sure to watch the video before boarding your houseboat. De-boarding was very quickly done, so don't wait until the last minute to gather all of your belongings. All in all, our houseboat vacation with State Docks was absolutely fantastic, and I'd do it again, in a heart-beat!

We started early and had a great time catching striped bass and walleye with James. My recommendation is leave it up to James whether you fish the river or the lake. James keeps track of the changing conditions and hot spots.
Wonderful time watching the sun come up on the Lake and some nice fishing action to go along with it. We did a 6hr trip so bring some snacks and some refreshments.
James provides everything needed except for food and your fishing license. You can buy the license online or pick it up at any retail business before you go.
Already booked another trip with James. Thanks Buddy.
