I visited Francisco Brennand's studio as part of a shore excursion from Recife. Francisco Brennand is a contemporary sculpture artist in Brazil. His studio is set in an old roofing ceramic tile factory that belonged to his father Ricardo. This studio is quite large with several buildings of this works.
A lot of his works are abstract beings involve the female bottom and phallic symbols. I've attached pictures so you can make your own judgements. We were only allowed to take pictures in the outside areas of the compound.

PE state is kinda awesome. its people, food, sun, all of it. But the "all of it" excludes the Beaches in Jaboatao and Recife.
The beach is dark, uninviting. The water too green, looks polutes (it is not).
....and then the SHARKS.....
We lived there for 6 months and enjoyed the whole scene but left out the beach part.
Funny. Probably the only place we liked at the beach that had no beach at all....

Piedade beach is seen to be developing & growing day by day as this is close to Boa Viagem Beach of Recife. More and more people - especially th younger generation, is found to be liking this location on week ends and destivals. Food is available at very reasonable cost and surrounding is attractive each day.

Good place for a shopping day in Recife. People from other countries with a favourable exchange rate will find good deals in local (and top quality) brands. The major "maisons" have stores there but due to brasilian heavy import taxing may not have good prices. Excellent restaurants are a major atractions. The best cinemas in town are located there, its easy to find english spoken movies with original sound subtitled in portuguese so english speakers will have what to watch. Watch out heavy traffic jams on exit from 5pm to 7pm. A must go place to shop in Recife.

We visited the park based on the very positive reviews from tripadvisor. Costed us about 80 reais round trip by taxi. Unfortunately, there's not much to see apart from a nice view of the city and a pretty colonial church.

Acesso horrível, sinalização quase inexistente, estrutura precária, música ruim alta e local pouco cuidado. A única coisa que presta é o banho, que realmente é muito gostoso. Não voltaria.

Dating from the 16th century, San Francisco Convent has a living community of Franciscans, and is probably the highlight of Olinda. Its baroque carvings, its paintings and murals, the blue Portuguese tiles and decorations are impressive – if a little tired. The church and sacristy have richly carved woodwork, and note above your head, all the way to the ceiling.
There is a small charge, and the tour guide is most enthusiastic. Well worth a visit.
