If you tell any one that "i will be visiting Jabalpur" he will immediately respond " You must visit Dhuandhar" this place is associated with the identity of Jabalpur. at "Dhuandhar you can witness the roaring water fall, with great velocity & magnitude , from a decent height in a valley of beautiful white marble rocks . witnessing this fall brings a mix emotions of thrill, adventure, admire for the beauty of nature. the rope way tour above the fall (across the river) gives an another opportunity to have a panoramic view of the water fall. if you are traveling with young kids and elderly people than be careful for the safety, and it requires a little walking . public amenities like washrooms etc. still need to be developed and maintained.

Chausat Yogini Temple

Reviewed By Sunagrawal - Jabalpur, India

This place is one of my favorites in the marble rock city of Jabalpur. The temple depicts the rare occasion of lord Shiva's marriage with goddess Parvati. It is surrounded with statues of 64 goddesses who had come to attend the wedding ceremony of Parvati. It is a historical delight to see this archaeological heritage site. Only regret is that (like in most of North India) all the statues have been damaged by the Mogul emperor Aurangzeb. But still it is a must see in Jabalpur. Please note that it is a gusrded & protected site, and hence be careful about the timings (10am to 5.00pm). Also be prepared to climb approx 100 steep steps.

Marble Rocks at Bhedaghat

Reviewed By Shwetsh - Mumbai, India

Natural limestone rocks which guard both the banks of Narmada river . Interacting with water has given them myriad texture and colors. White, Cream, Grey, Brown and Blue are all the colors that you can see in these few kms stretch. Naturally formed jagged lines and creative shapes ( Shiva, Sadhu, Bird) you can spot a many during the winding boat ride in the Narmada river , nestled in a valley of these breathtaking limestone rocks. Thankfully the filth and litter that humans create around a 'ghat' is completely missing . So you actually end up experiencing pristine nature . Gushing water, sculptural rocks within a 30 mins road drive from the city of Jabalpur. Pay extra and take the private ferry to boat deeper in Bhedaghat . If you don't mind the 'bollywood shooting ' peppered stories of the boat guys , the ride will be even more interesting . Its a definite activity when visiting Madhya Pradesh or even India as a tourist

Bargi Dam

Reviewed By Talwar2014 - Janakpuri, India

Bargi dam on the mighty river narmada with its huge reservoir provides for a breathtaking views of clear blue water meeting the horizons in distant. We had a stopover at mp tourism resort on the reservoir while going to jabalpur airport from kanha national park and we enjoyed thoroughly. Mp tourism runs water steamer, speed boats and water scooter and has a restraunt overlooking the nature. The steamer moves at a pace which lets you soak in the beauty of water against the hills meeting the sky. Such places are truly making indian tourism incredible The steamer ride is approx 45mins long and upper deck charges are rs 160 n lower ac deck is priced at 200. There are rooms as well for those wanting to stay overnight. I recommend visiting it enroute to kanha or pench or nagpur from/to jabalpur
