This is a great spot to get information about the Kintaikyo area, and sample some local sake or some lotus root dishes. Iwakuni is know for their gorgeous lotus fields and unusual lotus root (renkon). The Visitors Center also hosts a lot of events and activities. From make stamp engraving workshops to pottery exhibits, there’s always something going on. Be sure to explore the building. It’s a very old building that has been renovated, but still has a lot of original parts in the structure. They have an English speaker on staff who can explain the amazing history of the building.
