I had come fron Chiba intending to do a round trip using the Isumi and then the Kominato railways. The advice at Ohara station from the Isumi shop manager was that Kominato had suffered damage in the typhoon and the connection at Kazusa-Nakano was not going to happen. Also it would be a long wait for a bus to town. I had my best chance with a quick run up and back to K-N. It was 730 yen each way or a souvenir day ticket for 1500. I chose the latter and bought some great souvenirs at cheap prices. The rail car was very well renovated and very clean. I love the yellow colour as well. The platform hides just near the JR barriers, through the Isumi shop. There are ticket machines in the shop, but you can buy on the train as well.

We visited the Awamata no Taki Falls in September. While there is less water runoff, the the view of the waterfall is still peaceful. We were able to go further into the bank to get a better view of the water runoff.
