The visit at the Vidor Center is a great experience for kids and adults. The movie is very interesting and eye-catching. In the green house is possible to see how the products are grown, the interactive museum is well made and amusing. We have been welcome and guided through the center by qualified and competent people. Massimo Elena from Italy

The Saxum Visitor Center helps pilgrims to deepen their knowledge of the Holy Land through different multimedia resources in order to enrich each person’s Holy Land experience.
My favorite parts of the Visitor Center were: 1) the time sequence, interactive 3-D images of the evolution of the temple and 2) the raised relief map of the temple area depicting, in sequence, Jesus' route through the city from the time of His arrest in the Garden of Gethsemane, taking Him to Caiaphas, to Herod, etc., and finally to Calvary, and 3) cross section and explanation of the site of the Holy Sepulcher. Very small but nice gift shop (cash only). Highly recommend the book, "In the Footprints of our Faith." Outstanding combination of photos, maps, and explanations of nearly every major pilgrimage site. Used by tour guides as a reference book ($35). As an extra, from the parking lot you can see the nearby statue of Our Lady of the Arc of the Covenant silhouetted against the sky on a nearby ridge, looking toward Jerusalem, on the site (now church) where the Arc was secured for 20 years prior to King David bringing it to Jerusalem. Saxum is culminating stop on tours offerd by Mater Dei Tours. Saxum.org

Founded in 1871 by German Templers, this unique site underwent amazing changes. Its residents were first appreciated for introducing advanced farming and manufacturing practices to the region; but later expelled for being Nazi subjects. Sarona transformed into a British military base, then the headquarters of both the Israeli Army and the Mossad – and finally, today this is one of Tel Aviv's most popular shopping and recreation sites. Tel Aviv- Yafo Municipality invites you to visit the Tourist Information Centers located in four of the most beautiful areas of the city - the Herbert Samuel Boardwalk, the Jaffa Clock Tower, Sarona and Rothschild Boulevard. We really enjoyed our visit around this area. It's packed with history from the earliest beginnings of Tel Aviv with the Templars, to really interesting information about the formation of the state of Israel. We didn't tie in with an official tour, but instead the guide from the ticket booth showed us round and was brilliant in bringing it all to life. We totally recommend this area and can't believe it isn't better known and listed in guide books.

This is the place to go for great advice and information before you start your visit to Akko. The great staff can help you (in several languages) to orient yourself in the city and help you map out a great day of touring, eating, and fun. They have a short film, maps, brochures and lots of advice regarding where and when. Follow the signs to Tourist Information when you enter the old part of town on Weizmann st (there is a parking lot right there at 1 Weizmann where you can park for the day if you are coming by car). The signs kind of drop off but you can ask for help at any store or restaurant. You will see a lovely restored stone building with bright blue shutters. Inside is a gorgeous, light-filled space which also includes local artwork for sale and interesting informational exhibits. If you have transportation and a flexible schedule, they can help you extend your visit to the area to include other sites such as local inns, wineries, food or crafts workshops and beautiful parks and natural sites in the western Galilee. We just spent several days doing just that and there is a lot to do and see in the area! Enjoy your visit to historic Akko and the Galilee.

Rediscover Biblical Jerusalem. The story of the City of David began over 3,000 years ago,Today, the story of the City of David continues. Deep underground, the City of David is revealing some of the most exciting archeological finds of the ancient world. While above ground, the city is a vibrant center of activity with a visitor's center that welcomes visitors for an exciting tour to the site where much of the Bible was written.
The City of David is an archaeological site which you can visit and see remains from settlement during the Canaanite period. At the site you can go underground to Hezekiah’s Tunnel (maybe not if you’re claustrophobic), Warren’s Shaft, the Pool of Siloam). We’d recommend a guided tour so you know what you’re looking at. There’s lots of walking and stairs and hills so you need to be physically fit. Enter via the Dung Gate and head to the visitor centre. There are bathrooms, kiosk and a shop.

I love craft fairs and unique handmade items and seek out craft markets wherever I travel. The craft market at Nahalat Benyamin is one of the best I have been to. Lots of artists selling unique handmade items, everything from Judaica to jewelry, toys and home decor. This is by far the best place to buy your gifts and souvenirs to take home from your Israel vacation. The craft fair only happens on Tuesdays and Fridays, so try to time your visit to Tel Aviv on one of these days. Also Nahalat Benyamin is lined with good cafes and restaurants and is a fun place to sit outside with a good cup of coffee on a Friday morning and watch the people and the market in action. Will definitely make a point to come back during my next visit to Israel.
