The Isle of Wight is the perfect place to enjoy some peace, quiet and natural beauty. Except perhaps in the summer, when the Isle of Wight Festival draws visitors from all over the world. In 1970, the Festival was the largest rock-music event ever held. It was called Britain's Woodstock and featured Jimi Hendrix and The Who. (Not so much peace or quiet that week.) The island is also known for its world-famous sailing and lovely resorts, where people have been vacationing since Victorian times.

We visited the shop by chance and booked onto the tour with the very helpful lady in the shop. Greg was our guide and he was very knowledgeable and would look at any rock you picked up and tell you what it was. He very kindly helped by 4 1/2 year old find a Dino bone as he was desperate to find one! He was great with all the children. He clearly loves palaeontology and was extremely passionate and informative. I would never have noticed or realised any of the things he showed us and pointed out. It was a small group so didn’t feel too crowded. I would definitely recommend island gems for a fossil hunting trip!

The Christmas Imaginarium is located in the Victorian seaside resort town of Ryde on the Isle of Wight. Located in an original Victorian shop that was built in the 1850’s, the building now houses the magical emporium filled with Christmas curiosities and festive finery. Opened at the behest of Father Christmas himself The Christmas Imaginarium also houses many magical surprises that one must visit to fully uncover.
What a lovely shop, good selection of decorations, I did find some of the items a bit pricey, I appreciate the craft that has gone into some of the decorations others are bought in. Dogs are welcome, we did carry our little dog just so the tail did not create havoc, plus I don't think I would be able to afford to pay for the damage she could have created. I am sure the shop is even more magical in December.

Accomplished photographer Chad Powell has a 'passion for capturing the night sky', The Islands coastal location and low light pollution levels result in some of England’s darkest skies, making his stunning night sky photography possible. With a wealth of other spectacular scenery shots to browse come and visit his gallery. The Chad Powell Gallery & Shop offers artwork to purchase, in the form of original wall art and many giftable items.
Definitely worth a visit to Arreton Barns to check out The Chad Powell Gallery - amazing pictures from a clearly talented photographer as well as excellent service. Thank you, the pictures we bought are now proudly displayed in our home.
