The Isle of Wight is the perfect place to enjoy some peace, quiet and natural beauty. Except perhaps in the summer, when the Isle of Wight Festival draws visitors from all over the world. In 1970, the Festival was the largest rock-music event ever held. It was called Britain's Woodstock and featured Jimi Hendrix and The Who. (Not so much peace or quiet that week.) The island is also known for its world-famous sailing and lovely resorts, where people have been vacationing since Victorian times.

The Ventnor Exchange is the town's unique creative hub. Located in a former Post Office the building now houses a studio theatre, record store and craft beer bar with over 50 guest beers. It's the best place on the Island to catch innovative new work, as well as the perfect place to browse vinyl, meet friends and relax with like minded people. The Ventnor Exchange is also the HQ for the annual Ventnor Fringe.

Great place and staff with good selection of Ales German beers and various gins. Great live music and friendly company in a cosy environment as quite compact so get in early when music is on.

We ate here last night. We were late as we got lost! Worth the walk! The food was excellent. Pasta, fish, steak and pizza on offer. The food was fantastic. Lovely quirky venue.

Ventnor is our favourite part of the island. We had been to The Spyglass Inn on previous visits and wondered what our experience would be during a pandemic. We were not disappointed. The venue was very covid secure. Lots of cleaning and the tables were socially distanced both inside and outside. As it was a chilly evening we sat inside by the door but still enjoyed great views. The fish was delicious and the staff were very friendly and helpful. A fab venue which has never let us down when we have visited.

We visited today for a light lunch as had a lively visit a few months ago. We ordered a mushroom & smokey bacon tagliatelle and a light bite lasagne. The service was friendly and the food came out quick. Both meals were really well cooked and the tagliatelle was really flavoursome. Highly recommended the White Lion for its food, atmosphere and service!
