A major attraction being the largest mosque built with support from Saudi Arabia is an excellent building with a unique Tent structure. The main hall is huge without any obstructive pillars. Its architecture is unique and is a major departure from the regular mosques (Masjids) which feature domes. The Crescent that adorns the centre of the roof is made of gold.

Daman-e-Koh is a viewing point and hill top garden north of Islamabad and located in the middle of the Margalla Hills in Islamabad it is a very beautiful place in Islamabad. especially for tourist people. Always love going to Daman-e-Koh, such a beautiful view and so peaceful even with all the visitors you can always find a spot at least for a few minutes to just look at the city from a distance, gift from the Creator.

Margalla hills are part of the Himalayas (its extension) and surround Islamabad. They are lush green and rocky with springs here and there. You can visit the hills in a car and also visit the various trails for hiking. There are 6 hiking trails, the most commonly visited are trail 1, 3 and 5. Trail 1 is the easiest and only takes 45-50 minutes climb to Daman e Koh. Trail 3 is steep and takes 3 hours of strenuous hike to top at Monal restaurant. Trail 5 is 5 kms and first 2 -3 kms are easy while the 2 kms is the steepest and require quite an effort to climb. It takes around 3 hours of strenuous hike to reach the top so take water along with you. This trail is criss crossed by water streams and springs. The views from above are breath taking and refreshing. It’s better to go for hiking on any of these trails early in the morning or late afternoon. And don’t forget a sun cap and good quality hiking shoes or joggers.

If you are visiting Islamabad, visiting Lok Virsa Museum shall be a good experience. You will see cultural dresses, models of old houses, professions of old time and much more related to provinces of Pakistan. There you will also find sections of Central Asian States displaying their culture. The museum is located in an area where you can also find nearby couple of other visiting places like Science Museum, Monument and Shakarparian Park.

The trail 5 is situated almost at the end of margalla road. It is almost 5km trail. The good thing about it is, it has initial 1.8km trail straight without any steep hike. So, people who cannot hike steep heights due to any issues can easily enjoy the first 1.8km without any difficulties. After that you can either continue on trial 5 or one can take the bypass route to trail 3 as well. After 1.8km the real hike starts which is the steep one and non regular hikers can face some difficulties and might have to take frequent stops for catching breath. Always keep water bottle and some snacks with you. At 3km there is small water stream and stop over or endpoint for some. After this point the hike is not too steep. It is recommended to wear rubber sole shoes.

The park is an amusement place of international standards offering services like picnic area including dedicated Bar B Q spots with grills, adventure sports like wall(rock) climbing, quad bikes in F1 Tracks, boating, fishing, fancy bird aviary, train rides, restaurants and much more. There is a zoo for rare species of birds which is a major attraction of the area. A restaurant named 'Dera' offers food and refreshment to visitors too. Giga mall is an absolutely amazing shopping mall where you can shop till you drop . It has many restaurants on the top floor with all kinds of delicious out let’s. it also has a amusement park so plenty of rides and games to keep the children busy as well as a train on the ground floor which children can have a ride on. I love the aspect that each visitor has to go through a metal detector and bag inspection so that gives you a peace of mind . It’s one of of if not the best shopping malls in Islamabad we made many trips to it while on holiday the children absolutely loved it . Definitely will be going there again on my next visit to Pakistan inshallah.
