Located just outside Doolin village on the outskirts of the Burren. Enjoy fantastic views of the magestic Cliffs of Moher, Aran Islands, Connemara Mountains and Galway Bay on horseback. Gallop along the beach on Ireland's west coast. Caters for everyone from beginner to advanced rider offering treks from 1 to 6 hours long.
I came to Ireland specifically to ride, so my expectations were fairly high. Mountain View exceeded them. Sweet, well-cared for, beautiful horses and LOVELY and welcoming guides, stunning views during the rides-- the beach ride was probably the most amazing thing I've done on any trip in my entire life. The weather was super rainy for me but I still had the time of my life. The weather didn't both the horses at all, Wear rain gear! A ride with Mountain View is a must if you're in the area (or if you aren't in the area, I came in from Dublin and was very glad I did).

Welcome to our TripAdvisor page. I am Oliver Walsh and for the past 15 years I have welcomed visitors from all over the world to Flowerhill Equestrian Centre in Co Galway, Ireland. Visitors come for the hospitality, willing and fit horses, extensive cross country horseback riding facilities and relaxed and happy atmosphere. Flowerhill is based in 250 acres of beautiful east Galway country side. We are surrounded by the best possible cross country horse riding land - green fields, woods, the Kilcrow river, and wonderful wildlife. You can gallop across open fields, swim through the lake and splash in the Kilcrow river, scaring away the fish as you go. Our fences are a mixture of natural logs, stone walls, ditches and a variety of man made obstacles, including giant bananas! Most of the 150 fences include 2 or more options, so whether you are a nervous novice or confident competitor, we will cater for your needs. The riding standard varies from novice cross sountry, through intermediate, right up to advanced open. All riders need to be confident at walk trot and canter, therefore Flowerhil is not for the absolute beginner.Ride with us by the hour, a full day of 2 or 3 rides per day, or stay with us and chill out for a week or more. Rides usually go out daily at 10.00am and 1.30pm, and we change the rides to suit our customers needs. Horse riding variations include show jumping and dressage tuition, cross country workshops, exercising the hounds and hacking down to the local pub, where there are stabling facilities while we enjoy a pint and toasted sandwich. Private cross country or show jumping clinics for an individual rider can also be arranged. Over the years many of customers return again and again to enjoy the fun.
If you are into horses and want a great experience this is the place for you, the grounds are fantastic the staff great and the horses are magnificent.

On holidays from Dublin for 4 days, one of the activities on top of my wife and daughters list was horse riding, so after reading the reviews of Drumcliffe equestrian, I decided to book online for the 3 of us and I was so glad we did. From the moment we arrived we were met with a friendly smile and witty banter from the man himself Pat. Pat is a character that makes you feel at ease straight. Helping Pat are his 2 daughters and a handful of other girls from the centre. Covid procedures are in place on arrival and once suited and booted, our horses were brought in and before we new it we were walking around the indoor arena learning the techniques and being led by Pats team. The horses are fantastic and very calm, our 7 year old had never been on a horse before and was loving Polly. Once we were confident enough, Pat took us out into the fields on our trek with his team, who were always in total control and we felt extremely safe throughout our trek. As you can see from the photos, my wife and daughter had a ball and are still talking about the experience and are already planning to take a day trip from Dublin to do it all again. If travelling to Clare, make sure to visit Pat at Drumcliffe Equesrian. You won’t be disappointed.
