We had wonderful time with this very kind couple!!! John and Angelique was very helpful and they informed us about everything we saw! We did a four-day tour around Ioannina city, at Tzoumerka and Zagorochoria villages. I recommend these beautiful people and I hope to see them again!!!
Ioannina is one of Northern Greece's most atmospheric cities. It is set on the western shore of the lovely Lake Pamvotis, and framed by the impressive mountain range that turns lilac at sunset. The walls of the old town (Kastro) enclose an atmospheric, tranquil old quarter, and the lakeside area is lined by opulent plane trees that let in dappled afternoon sunlight. Together with jutting minarets, the fantastic fortress and the unique appeal of the island ( To Nisi ), Ioannina makes a beautiful place to visit. Trip takes from 8 to 10 hours according to clients needs. Dodoni archaeological site is one of the most ancient of oracles in Greece. It was dedicated to Zeus. It’ not as well known as other archeological sites in Greece, but it’s a nice place to visit, especially to see one of the best preserved ancient Greek theaters. It was the oldest of the Greek oracles and ancient people traveled great distances in order to consult the priests who foretold the future.

It was amazing day just for 25 euros per person. Captain Spyros took us from Agios Gordios and drived us to Gouvia by his car telling nice stories about villages we passed. The boat was big and nice and Spyros was the best part of it. He was joking, singins, dancing, talking to everyone and making food. The food was very tasty, and free coffe, biscuits and free wine all the day. The three places we stopped were very nice especially this wild beahh near the lake.

I can't thank our tour guide Adam enough for giving us a fun filled day from start to finish. If you are lucky enough to get him as your tour guide you will agree with me that he is one interesting man on this planet! He went above and beyond, even making additional pit stops. He showed us so much in one day that would of easily taken us two to three days to do. The tour exceeded my expectations. I can't wait to do future day trips in other countries/cities with Albanian Express Travel and Adam!
Through our Crossroads of Cultures program, travelers learn from expert lecturers while journeying through Albania’s most notable sites and towns along with Epirus, Greece’s northwest region. Even though Albania, which borders northwest Greece, has been inhabited for at least ten millennia, today it’s one of Europe’s last “undiscovered’ countries but Albania’s strategic position, only a short distance from Italy across the Adriatic Sea, and commanding the route from west to east, made it an important and flourishing possession of empires and other powers since antiquity. Greeks founded cities on its shore, beginning in the 7th century BC; the Romans made it a province, later becoming a Byzantine and Ottoman territory; and in the early 20th century, it was part of the Austro-Hungarian Empire, and under the domination of Italy and Germany.

Myths surround the city of Ioannina They hover in the mist that often hangs over its lake and the island in its centre. This time, the myths don’t revolve around gods and heroes, but rather historical personalities. Chief among them is Ali Pasha, the maverick 19th century Turko-Albanian ruler and his court. Intertwined with Ioannina’s history, in this corner of Western Greece, other myths haunt the old, walled district, the Kastro, the citadel of Its Kale, the Byzantine monasteries on the Island and the rich museums.

I went on the Astro Tour and it was a great experience! We were picked up at a nearby location and dropped off at the house of the guide, who was an astronomer. He had a very nice telescope ready for us to use and he showed us a lot of wonderful things that you can't see with the naked eye. The owner of Hello Thessaloniki, Solon, was there with us the whole time. He was really nice and very accommodating! He also gave us a lot of recommendations on where to go and what to do in the mainland of Greece. He seemed to be very knowledgeable about the area and all the wonderful things there is to see there. If I ever come back to the mainland of Greece, I know for sure who to call! Thanks Solon for the great experience! :)
