At 46 miles in length, the Withlacoochee State Trail is presently one of the the longest paved rail-trails in Florida. With a generally flat terrain and many access points, the trail is an ideal venue for all skill and fitness levels of cycling, running, walking and skating an unpaved equestrian trail parallels portions of the paved trail. The trail corridor traverses three counties (Citrus, Hernando and Pasco), offering an enjoyable, varied journey as it runs through small towns, ranches and six distinct natural communities between Citrus Springs and Dade City. Officially designated as part of the Florida Greenways and Trail System, this State Trail is also a National Recreation Trail® which offers rich opportunities for viewing plants & wildlife and provides access to many other outstanding recreational opportunities.
We have done two half-day rides on the Withlacoochee State Trail and it has opened a whole new area of recreation to us. We have walked the trail on its south end, ridden it south of Floral City and now have ridden north from Inverness...MoreWe are happy that you enjoyed your outing on the Trail. We hope you will visit us again.

Nice little nitch in downtown Inverness....rotating displays...the volunteers are so friendly and really knowledgeable about county history. I would highly recommend this as a nice way to introduce friends to Citrus County. I don't know that young children would be very interested in this museum....but adults will enjoy it!!!

We visit Florida every year and always go to the park, pool and splash pad are closed, but kids have a great time at the playground. Looks like it's great for summer use, lots of baseball diamonds, tennis courts etc. Always very clean and well maintained, washrooms on site too.

There's little I like better than colorful, informative, and well-written interpretive history kiosks and this park has them! It is very interesting to read about both the Seminole people and the U.S. Soldiers who lived, fought, and died here. The story of Florida's Seminole Wars is compelling, and I thought these informative explanations explained Fort Cooper's place in that history very clearly and fairly. Walking along "Old Military Road," sitting at the bench across from the Fort site, and looking out at the lake, it is easy to imagine all that happened here.

I meandered over to the park to relax and unwind for awhile. I took a stroll on the nice boardwalk and sat on the bench overlooking Henderson Lake. It was a gorgeous comfortable day in February. I watched the birds and a couple of sculling teams practicing out in the lake. The boardwalk connects Liberty Park to Wallace Brooks Park. You can also go walking, hiking, or biking on the Withlacoochee State Trail. There are a nice variety of things you can do including shuffleboard, Picnicking and a playground for kids.

We have been to numerous races up north and didn't know what to expect here. We were disappointed. The number of cars in each heat were very limited. The races moved along but my grandson was disappointed. Not much action except for the fight between two drivers. If your happy with small town action this would be good. I'm use to more

Bark Central Dog Park is a privately run 20-acre recreation area where dogs can run, play and swim in a safe environment. Make it a day; bring food and drink while your pet enjoys the following: 15 acres of off-leash areas enclosed by six-foot chain link fencing; separate small and large dog areas; filtered swimming ponds; lots of trees; three training yards for individual or group use; outdoor rinse station; temperament screening. Proof of rabies and DHLPPC vaccinations required.
The website clearly states it was open till 7:30pm. We arrived about 5:30pm and after getting half of the application filled out the woman behind the desk says they lock the gates in 30mins. I'm sorry but I'm not going to pay $10 for 30mins! We drove an hour from Ocala to check out this park. Never again. The woman wasn't very friendly by any means and he dog was snarling and barking at ours (I'm sorry but if your going to have a dog behind the counter it doesn't need to act like that). Apparently if you have the 300 dollar membership you could be there till then..ridiculous, if I'm paying to be there it better be worth it and for that amount of time it wouldn't have been. After our experience and after reading these reviews I won't be back!

Nice area to picnic or ride bikes. Near Downtown area. Several people were fishing, I'm pretty sure you need a permit to do that. The park has restroom areas. Really nice nature walk not to long but scenic area. The walking path is all wooden like a deck that wraps around the park. Across the street is a railroad car. Free parking, Free walk. If you want to reserve the Big Covered Pavilion you must make reservation through the City park department. There is a charge.

Very calming and relaxing temple. It is 3 hour drive for me but it is worth it. I first found out about this temple in 2012 and ever since then I have visited this temple regularly. The Pujaris are very helpful and friendly. Highly recommended if you are a Sai Baba Bhakt (follower).
