Highway 112, or the Kanc, runs from Center Conway to North Woodstock, just south of Franconia Notch. Passing through the White Mountain National Forest, it is considered one of the most scenic highways in the U.S. and offers a number of interesting stopping off points.
NOthing compares to the Kangamagus Highway. It has everything that draws the interest of the adventurer: covered bridge, waterfalls, historic sites, lots of hiking trails for beginners to experts. Its especially impressive in the winter when the snow is settled in the woods and along the trails. The Swift River is perfect for the amateur or professional photographer; especially at Lower Falls and Rocky Gorge. If you're daring you can stop along the way and get great shots of the river wit its clean water and interesting falls. Don't miss the Colbath House with its classic barn and simple cemetery. Stop for the historic markers if the history bug has bit you..

Story Land – where fantasy lives! Story Land is a safe and natural setting where children and their imaginations can run free. We provide a great value to our guests every day, with all-inclusive rides, shows & attractions, reasonably-priced admission ticket, FREE parking, and FREE pet kennels. Featuring birthday parties and character dinners, Story Land is a celebration for the young at heart. This world of fantasy is punctuated by the kaleidoscope of flowers and emerald fields of New Hampshire’s beautiful White Mountains. Timeless characters like Humpty Dumpty, the Old Woman in the Shoe, the Three Little Pigs, and Peter Rabbit came to life here in 1954.
This would have been interesting and fun in the sixties, but it is not today. Rides and exhibits are simply dated and the storyland themes are not interesting to kids beyond the age of six.

Impressive collection of trains and cars. Everyone there was very friendly. We did get the cautionary warning to keep our children near and that we were responsible for any damage. It's probably an hour activity at best. It's one of those things to check off your list of North Conway area activities but it's not probably something you'd repeat.

If you have the chance to do take any of their tours, please do. You will not regret it.

Northeast Mountaineering offers rock climbing, ice climbing, mountaineering, and waterfall rappelling for all ages and experience levels. Let us help you make the most of your time in the White Mountains and view the scenery from a new perspective! Great idea for families and groups!
Went and did the intro to ice climbing with a small group and a guide. It was a bitter cold day and after a challenging hike through the snow I got very cold. The guide was very accomidating bringing along and extra parka and sharing his hot chocolate. This made the day a great at experience with fun climbs and good people. We stayed in the bunk house that night and it's very affordable and nice enough for a group stay area.

A rock cliff that is popular with climbers.
Long winding steep road to the top but the views are well worth it. You may be lucky enough to see rock climbers scaling the ledge. Be sure to walk all around as there are multiple different views of different areas, Some have fencing to make it safer but there are other areas that you can get to to view other rock ledges and walls that have no fencing. A must if you are in the area.

Since 1965, the Covered Bridge Shoppe has been a favorite stop for travelers in our valley. We feature a distinctive collection of country home decor items including candles and accessories, pillows, wall art and pottery, flags, garden art, chimes, plush animals and more at reasonable prices in a friendly atmosphere. In addition, we offer a full line of souvenirs including a great selection of T-shirts. We are open everyday from the end of May through October - 10AM - 5PM
A gift shop with a difference, the walk over the bridge brings you to a deceptively large shop. It carries the usual touristy stuff as well as craft handiwork. The proprietor is very helpful and friendly, parking is somewhat limited, but you should find something you like here.

Went to Attitash Ski Resort on Sunday Jan 28, 2018. A little background, I have been skiing for 40 years, from the Boston Area and now living in Baltimore. After checking reports on Twitter where the resort was advertising good conditions. We headed over to Attitash from North Conway. Got to the mountain at 9, purchased our tickets and headed up the mountain to check out the ski conditions. The mountain was a sheet of ice. I am not kidding, my friend had good edges on her skis, but fell and then slid 30 feet off the edge of the trail down a gully into trees. We were lucky that she was not seriously hurt. We immediately headed to the base lodge to get a refund as the conditions were unsafe. The customer service rep was very rude and told us to pound sand. After a heated debate, the rep offered a voucher to come back. I EXPLAINED THAT I WAS FROM OUT OF STATE AND WAS FLYING OUT THE NEXT DAY. Response was “to bad”. The Reps also played a game of “the manager is not working today” so I could not escalate the issue. We were literally on the mountain for less than 45 mins, feared for our lives, and now out $170 bucks. I would recommend going to Cranmore or Bretton Woods verses ATTI-TRASH. ——-BUYER BEWARE, this mountain sucks and the customer service reps suck more.

Diana's Baths is very pretty when nobody is there, which is never. The Internet has hyped this attraction to the point that it is actually unpleasant to go there because of the crowds. The parking is inadequate, so they run a shuttle (not free) from town to the attraction. There is local concern that the large volumes of people there will actually damage the flora & fauna.
