Outstanding tour by a husband and wife team.... customized to whatever you want to see or hear about. We spoke about way more than just history! Even my 3 (young adult) kids were engaged. Highly recommend.

The visibility of Northern lights depends for example on the weather and activity of the Sun, but this trip is to offer you the best chance to see the lights on the best possible location in Ivalo – Saariselka area. We take it seriously Our sites are absolute dark far from the village lights and hotels. This is important because most of the lights are relatively faint so in absolute darkness you will see much more. The longer you stay the more you see. This is why our tour is relatively long. The best hour to see the lights is just before the midnight but the best lights may appear whenever. On the way to the site we stop the car even several times if needed and follow the lights. During this tour we also spend nice time in a tepee on the best possible site for following the sky and barbeque for all tastes and diets. I was so lucky to be able to see the Northern Lights. It was a very good weather and it didn't take long for the amazing view to show itself. The guide is very passionate and professional. Lapland Welcome provides free outfits and equipment for customers. Don't worry too much if you don't have enough clothes or suitable shoes for this activity. The campfire barbecue was great :)) And the traditional Finnish New Year celebration, the melting tin horseshoe, was just so cool. Highly recommended!!

I highly recommend this experience to anyone who is interested in nature and wants an experience that will make them feel more like a guest than a tourist. I had a fantastic time exploring the woods with Terhi and Arto, the most delightful husband-and-wife science team in Northern Lapland. The big companies are great for sled dog rides and ski lessons, but if you wish to enjoy some peace and quiet while tracking wildlife footprints through the snow, roast biscuits in cozy hut over an open fire, and learn about the culture and politics of Lapland, you can't do better than this couple.
