The highlight of this tour is the owner of the place...Giovanna. She made the tour very personal and was extremely knowledgeable and engaging. The grounds are beautiful, the history is interesting and we loved the small private chapel next to the house built in the 1400’s. The wines are fantastic as are the olive oils. We also tried and loved the Grappa. We shipped plenty of wine and olive oil home and took a couple of bottles of Grappa with us. Getting to know Giovanna, drinking her wine and seeing her place was one of the highlights of our week in Florence. Don’t miss this!

Spent about 6 hours with Veronica at her studio/villa in Impruneta (25’ outside Florence). Stopped for a brief visit to a local farmers market to buy some vegetables for our vegetarian daughter, got some coffee then dove into focaccia, meatballs, tomato sauce, gnocchi, peppers and tiramisu. There were just the four of us - my wife and I and our two grown daughters. Learned a whole lot about how to cook, about local culture and food, and about some lovely Sardinian wine.

La Querce estate is located on the Chianti Florence hill that faces Impruneta at the heart of the Chianti Colli Fiorentini. In its 42 hectares of extension we grow vineyards and olive trees. It’s cultivated according to both tradition and innovation, limiting chemical interventions in order to reach the balance between soil and plants. As a result we obtain high quality products. Since 2019 we are organic. The soil in our Chianti hills tend to be clayey, this allows to always having a water reserve at our disposal that plants can use in harsh moments. Most fields face south in a wide valley; this helps to obtain sun exposure and light breeze during the harvest. The 8 hectares of vineyards have all been planted both with traditional grapes of this area Sangiovese, Canaiolo and Colorino, and with grapes Merlot. In the cellar the grapes are treated with much respect so as to produce natural wines and characterized from the territory.
