Vaitarna Dam is near JenJon Lake Vaitrana and the water for this dam is drawn from the biggest lake in the region - the mighty Upper Vaitarna. It is a magnificent sight to be standing on the banks of this great dam and observe various activities like fishing, bird watching, boating, children frolicking on its banks etc. The nearby JenJon Lake Vaitarna Resort arranges for various picnics to the dam.
It's a beautiful place. Rainy season is the best time to visit. My rainy season destination Igatpuri.

Such a calm nice place and very cool too. It was winter and the water was cooler than normal times, i guess. The body gets used to it after some time. Had to help each other to reach the waterfalls and jenjon staff helped a lot. Cannot reach here without any help.

This is an amazing place to visit during monsoons. The gates are open at the max and water flow / water level is really very high. Amazing site to spend a couple of hours and click some great photos. You can walk down the dam site and just see the massive flow of water. There is a bridge from where one get the view of both sides. One can also walk up to the dam top and see the lake reserve.
