A small town in the heart of the San Jacinto Mountains, Idyllwild is the perfect escape from Southern California traffic and the bustle of modern life. The big draw is San Jacinto National Park, where you can explore more than 50 trails. Rent bikes in town for a leisurely ride on a flat trail, or if you prefer, choose more rugged terrain. Rock climbers can scale Tahquitz rock. For those less experienced, sign up for rock-climbing school or try bouldering on the smaller rocks. A hike through many of the forest trails will take you by mountain streams and lead you to peaks with views of the Coachella Valley below and, on clearer days, the Salton Sea hundreds of miles away. Idyllwild is small enough that wherever you stay, you’ll be close to nature. Head to town to browse local shops and restaurants.

Mountain Pottery is a ceramics studio and gallery shop located in beautiful Idyllwild California. The Gallery Shop has a wide variety of beautiful ceramics locally handcrafted. Something for everyone. We offer a wide variety of classes and workshops in clay hand-building, sculpture and wheel-throwing for all ages and all experience levels by appointment 7 days a week. We will customize a class for 2 or more people or for private parties. Open studio and memberships also available. Please visit our website for more details. Call or stop by.
I took two classes during my 3 day stay in Idyllwild, and enjoyed them very much. The teachers are truly passionate artist who are willing to customize everyone’s learning experience even when it involves much more time, work and cleaning for them. They are very knowledgable, and have high aesthetics standards. This is not a cheesy ‘art’ class where you look at some tacky examples and mess around with paint and clay for a souvenir. Take your kids or friends here to express themself creatively, experience the atmosphere of a true artist studio, and deepen their visual culture. Thank you Helen and Jason for all your patience and great work that you do.

This is the Idyllwild Bible Church. The church is red. It is attractive! There are many trees. Naturally there is a mountain nearby. They have stained-glass windows. They have fun for kids. A must see!
