We stopped here on a day trip from Lima, and unfortunately we only had a short time to visit, but it was absolutely worth it. I mean, IT'S AN OASIS. I've never seen anything like this in person, and it's exactly what you'd see in a movie. There's a lagoon surrounded by trees, park, promenades, and shops. And the oasis is surrounded by sand dunes, which you can climb to get an overall view and terrific photos. Besides shopping, eating, drinking, and lounging, there are paddle boats on the lagoon and plenty of dune buggy and sand boarding outfitters. I expect it would be a nice place to spend a day or two. But just for the novelty of it, don't pass by without at least a short visit.

Dr. Javier Cabrera Darquea, surgeon, founder professor of the University of Ica and international patent holder of a copper metallurgy was the Peruvian scientist who studied and decoded the message of the 11,000 engraved stones of Ica that has the Scientific Museum Javier Cabrera. The stones were engraved by Gliptolitics men who came from a planet in the constellation of the Pleiades, were beings from another dimension, a more advanced civilization that ours. In the stones of the Museum you can see the first maps of the earth, scenes of men with extinct animals such as dinosaurs and highly advanced surgical operations, among other great revelations. They are the oldest archaeological remains of the earth, with more than 65 million years at least. Take a free tour and taste the Pisco & wines of the area at this winery & Distillery, which also has a Very Old Lagar to stomp the grapes,a very old Falca for Pisco Distillation (150 Years Old ) Traditional Restaurant and Tasting Room with a Cave full of Wine.
The guide made us visit the winery where he showed us how they make their different wines still in a artisanal way. After that we did a tasting. He did his best with talking english and amused us a lot with his jokes. Recommend !

If you go to Ica, the Huacachina desert oasis and village is a must to do, to visit this amazing lagoon in the middle of the desert and climb up the sand dunes. One can also ride dunes buggies or go sand boarding. It’s a fun visit, there are also restaurants and shops around the lagoon to just hang out for the day.
