Cross the magnificent Akashi strait bridge to YUME BUTAI the Dream Stage.Past Westin Hotel, and the international Conference Hall,a footpath leads you to the museum, which was completed in 2005. This hand-craffted space embodies the passionate will of Oishi Kakuya and his wife, shoco, and was created with the support of menbers of TUKURUKAI and 200 volunteers. it features the artworks of Oishi and Shoco from paintings, sculptures and object d'art as well as the lovingly created footpath and entrance with their hand-laid stones. Step out of ordinary into a space out of time that lies cradled by the sea and forest.

The museum reproduces the original appearance of Japan in the 1970s with the help of the ultra-precise models. With the exquisite craftsmanship that the Japanese are good at, as well as the overwhelming precision and completion, the audience will be immersed in it and forget time. The railway model is run every 30 minutes. And the twilight scene created by the lighting effect is shown at the same time. The museum is close to the world heritage — Himeji Castle. The precision of the exhibits is greatest in Japan. We are looking forward to you visiting here!

A really good little museum. As Kawasaki is one of the most important Japanese companies that existed through the Meiji restoration, WW2, and up to the modern era....this museum is also a history of modern Japan itself. It's also very important to the port of Kobe where Kawasaki is a large company. There is plenty to fascinate history buffs, those interested in engineering, and of course there are the motorbikes which are just cool by themselves :)

Its amazing to think that all this detailed woodwork was done by hand! This museum, while small, is a great revelation into the skill and traditions in Japan. Its also a quiet pleasant way to spend a few hours and close to a train station. I highly recommend a visit if you are in Kobe.
