It's never a bad time in the bush! But Hwange is special - love it every time! Even though the road between main camp and Ngweshla is well traveled, it's gorgeous and there's always something new around every corner.

We booked Hwange Safari company through African Coast tours. It was about $240 per person, plus $20 admission into the park. Our driver was Clophus and he was amazing! So knowledgeable, hospitable, and adventurous. He let us have a little extra time on our ride because he heard there were cheetahs sighted, and sure enough, we saw three of them!! So kind of him to do that for us to make our experience so special. We also saw elephants, zebra, giraffe, kudu, impala, baboons, crocodiles, monkeys, warthogs, ostrich, and so many beautiful birds. They provided a great lunch of roast chicken, rice, and potato salad, with soda and water. You sit in a comfortable, raised seat in the back of a pick up truck. I had a great view the whole day. It was chilly in the morning but they provided blankets. African coast provided round trip ride from Vic Falls, about 2.5 hour drive. Awesome experience!

A favorite place to spot for a comfort break (quite nice toilets and also 2 covered picnic areas to enjoy lunch) while in this part of the park. But it's also a campsite - a great place to spend a week or so with the local lion pride.
