This stretch of shoreline comprises a diversity of habitats that sustain a number of plant and animal communities. Over 300 species of birds visit the preserve, and in the springtime, expect a carpet of wildflowers.
We have visited Sheldon Marsh on several occasions - each time we stay at Sawmill Creek Lodge. When our daughters were younger they always enjoyed the nature walk with us as a family. On our latest visit, we noticed a significant amount of area has dried up but it's still a nice walk and a great way to get in touch with nature (I'm an old Eagle Scout who still enjoys the outdoors!). Definitely worth checking out when you are in the Huron area!

Tiny brick house where the inventor Thomas Edison was born. The museum features a collection of rare Edisonia, examples of many of Edison's early inventions, documents, & family mementos.
We decided to stop here on our way home from a trip to Sandusky. After stopping by the office to get our tickets, our guide walked us over to begin the tour of Edison's birthplace. Edison was born here and lived here until he was...MoreThank you so much for your review of your tour......now my job will be to find which of my employees told you that not much is known about Edison's first children! Thank you for coming and for your kind words. Cordially, Lois Wolf

This place was fantastic, especially if you like old time carousels. There are lots of old carousel horses and other animals. Tour was very informative and a ride on the carousel brought back many childhood memories. The Museum is in the old Sandusky Post Office Building adding to the allure of the attraction.

Watch birds of prey such as bald eagles and osprey hunt for fish.
My husband and I enjoy challenging hikes. You won't find that here. The trails are very quick and easy. We both enjoyed the views of wetlands and estuaries. We also liked the maps of the trails. The only reason I didn't give this 5 stars, because there was no challenge.

More than just an amusement park, Cedar Point features hotels, restaurants, beautiful grounds along with an impressive variety of thrill-rides.
I just read your new ticket prices for adults are $72..... This is very expensive and disappointing. I’m hoping you will reconsider those prices, as every year they seem to go up and up and up..... The lines are too long to pay that much.

This farm has lots of family activities to keep you busy, like wagon rides, a pumpkin patch, hiking trails and picnic areas, but even just stopping in to admire and buy some of their beautiful fruits and vegetables is a treat. They were sorting and packing apples when we were there. There were many large bins filled with different varieties of apples, fresh off the trees. I asked someone who was filling the bins which apple was her favorite and she told me "Crimson Crisp" which I bought and loved. There is a large popcorn machine with free popcorn for visitors, and samples of their caramel apples. There were pumpkins and gourds of all shapes and sizes. We left with an armful of wonderful produce.

Nine separate buildings make up this museum complex.
We came here after visiting Edison's birthplace, which is just a few steps away. In fact, one of the galleries here, the Galpin Gallery, is the former home of the doctor who delivered Edison. This is a museum complex consisting of a number of different buildings, some with docents and some without. We had our young children with us and some parts seemed tailor made for them (the large green; the doll museum, which is actually just one room that you have to ask whoever's in the Sayles Home to open for you; the penny candy in the gift shop) and others not so much (the two art galleries mostly). We ran into very helpful, interesting, and talkative guides and some who were less so, but still quite friendly. If you're going to the Edison birthplace anyways, then definitely stop here, but if you're used to larger, more detailed historical museums then this probably isn't worth a special stop. It was $20 per family (there is a Groupon but it's for the same price) and the hours on the website are wrong. During the summer months it's open 10-5, not 1-5.

On summer evenings youre sure to see a flock of gulls and terns swoop by, particularly herring and ring-billed gulls and caspian terns.
Surprised how many people were walking, biking, fishing, and just relaxing on the pier. The path ended at an observation area. But we noticed that the ground was worn on the left side of the observation area - and found that we could easily walk closer to the lighthouse on large flat rocks. I was pleased to see several people with walking difficulties able to enjoy the area - there were ramps and stairs for inclines.

Experience the scariest haunted house you will ever encounter, ride the fastest virtual roller coaster in Ohio, experience a one-of-a-kind interactive 3D blacklight mini golf journey, bounce houses, an indoor play area or get your heart pumping some more with a whirl around the skating rink. Special Events in October (Lake Eerie Fear Fest) December (Winter Wonderland Walk Through) and in September (Lake Eerie Zombie Mud Run).
This place is an awesome little gem! The prices for activities were affordable, and they have something for just about all ages. Our teenage son and his friend LOVED the haunted house. The play area was great for our 6 year old. We went early in the afternoon, so there were only a few other people. It was nice to practically have the place to ourselves. They have a great skating area and offer skate rental and scooter rental, which was cool. They also have a concession area and ample seating. We can't wait to go back and try some of the other activities, such as the 3D movie or laser maze.
