The bohemian allure and fairytale features of Prague make it a perfect destination for beach-weary vacationers who want to immerse themselves in culture. You could devote an entire day to exploring Prazsky hrad (Prague Castle), then refueling over a hearty dinner at a classic Czech tavern. Spend some time wandering the Old Town Square before heading over to gape at The Old Town Hall and Astronomical Clock. Prague’s best bars are found in cellars, where historic pubs set the scene for a night of traditional tippling.

Since 1999, this tiny boutique in the upper castle area has offered a large, hand-picked assortment of genuine Czech and European toys and gifts, including wooden toys, wind-up toys, art supplies, model cars, puppets and marionettes. It`s a little hard to find, tucked under an arcade near the Loreto Square, so look for the wooden rocking horse above the door. Owner Ivan Karhan will be happy to help you select the perfect memento or gift for a loved one. English spoken.
It's a rarity to find a Toy Shop like this nowadays. With everything going electronic its such a pleasure to see Toys made this way, Handcrafted Dolls, Puppets, Vehicles and more. Lots of Puzzles and Games, so much fun to browse and buy. They make excellent gifts! I'll give them to friends and the first thing out of their mouths is always, "Where did you find this?" Avoid the touristy gift shops when buying for friends and get them something with a little heart and soul. It goes over well and brings back memories.

Czech family company which uses maximum of local ingredients and cooperates with Czech partners. Prazska cokolada (Prague Chocolate) is the biggest manufacturer and seller of fine chocolate products with Czech (mostly Prague) motives.
Award winning chocolate that makes for great gifts. Just don't forget to bring yourself some home too! Their drinking chocolate is very rich and not what some are familiar with when they get a hot chocolate. It is however very tasty and worth ordering, although maybe don't go bigger than a small unless you're sharing.

Orel and friends is a Local Gift Store dedicated to Czech handmade goods. You can find there a unique selection of the work of around 30 Czech artists: ceramics, wooden toys, jewelry, tablecloth, handbags, leather books, notebooks, posters...
So being an expat here that has been in Prague for almost a year, I don't typically go for souvenir stores. However, while walking through the Malostranska Namesti area (because why not, the area is lovely and worth a look!), I stumbled across this gem. What really separates it from other gift shops is that not only are the gifts hand made, and the staff super friendly, but I really enjoy that the gifts are practical. While you can give someone something of a souvenir they can place on their shelf an forget about, most items here are worth display and open discussion. They are quite the inclusion to most any decorating style. This being said, if you bought something from here, it has instant conversation ability for you to entertain your friends and family from your travels abroad, and you know everything is made from someone local to Czech Republic. This is great, as you are also giving back to the community here locally, as much as enhancing your decor. If you are in the area (and you are, because you are seeing the beautiful castle complex and Charles Bridge area), this is the place you should stop for any items to validate your travels to the beautiful Czech Republic. Definitely worth a stop. Even for someone who lives here. :)
