Founded in 2012, Red Room Gallery is a pioneering art gallery upon which unique, contemporary African art is exposed to the greater international art market. The gallery seeks to source and display African works focusing primarily on black artists from across the continent, providing them with a means to market and profit from their talent and personal brand. The art on show is anything but the clichéd generic trinkets one finds on the side of the road, but alluring representations of the realities of African people. It is not African art through a Western lens, but African art seen through African eyes. Our work also prioritises artist development, as we provide opportunities for international exhibitions. Through this, we hope to expose the world to art that lives and breathes artistic life, and tells the stories of Africans both at war and at peace with their past. Red Room Gallery seeks to call and unite African artists to create a market for their stories yet unheard.
For any art lover visiting Cape Town, especially if interested in investment art, do take the time to visit Maik at his home based art gallery.I highly recommend it. It's always a memorable experience. The art collectionat Red Room is incredible! Amazing art pieces. One also has a unique view of the natural surrounds and mountains while appreciating the magnificent art works. Now that I've moved to Cape Town, I'll definitely be visiting Red Room more often and hopeful buy a few art works this year.

An awesome craft brewery located in the Hout Bay Harbour district. Come in and have a beer, tour our brewery, and maybe get lucky and watch our brewmaster in action! We have 4 beers on tap - all made using local Hout Bay spring water: a Weiss, a Blonde Ale, a Pilsener and a Stout.
Friendly owner and staff. Great beer and great people. Great atmosphere with the brew house being open for all to see. On our first visit, the owner even took us on a tour through the brewery. I make it a point to pop in there whenever I am in the area.

IMAGINE ….. a place where the creative energy and the vibrancy of Cape Town come alive in an authentic fish factory in a working harbour …. where people of all ages and cultures gather alongside one another to celebrate our unique South African spirit …. where the hustle and bustle of a boisterous market fills the air …… where local traders exchange banter with customers …. “that’s a bargain, fo sho!” … an eclectic stylish wonderland of exquisite art, craft, jewellery and fashion …. complemented by the delicious aromas of food to tempt all the senses…freshly baked breads, spicy seafood and citrus fruits … you pass a robotic mime drawing gasps from giggling kids … the sound of a township guitarist and a groovy sax …… punctuated by singing seagulls …. where the famous beauty of Chapman’s Peak looms overhead ………. and the vibe is just sommer lekker!
We were on holiday and visited this market and I'd highly recommend it the atmosphere was fantastic there was a good choice of food and drinks live music and artisan food stalls along with arts crafts and curios. Well worth a visit
