The Garth Newel Music Center is a gem. We were on vacation in Bath County looking for something to do and we stumbled on one of their concerts. The music center is on a beautiful farm setting just outside of Hot Springs, VA and the concerts are held in a renovated barn. The quartet was delightful. They have a very nice dinner following the concert. Since we had not been there before, we did not stayed for the dinner. Most people did stay. They had an open cash bar and the chef prepares a very nice menu. If you are in the area, we highly recommend catching an evening out at the Garth Newel Music Center.

Visited here and enjoyed a Rueben and humus and pita. The Reuben was an oven fired sandwich. Beers were great - very nice selection. There was plenty of outdoor seating which was nice. I think they have music at times.

Redesigned by Rees Jones, this historic 18-hole golf course has been transformed into a challenging par-72 layout.
played the course recently with a group of 8 (played 2 times in 3 days). first tee times of the day so a bit of dew on the ground. surprisingly they let us go out. With that said, service at the course is excellent. The course is in great shape. Neat layout with 6 ea. par 3's, 4's and 5's. playing from the back tees still challenging for all handicaps. With the elevation changes, the views of the course and the surrounding areas is spectacular. bit of history on number 1 tee...it is the oldest continuously operating 1st tee in the country. Must do when in the area!

This 6,659-yard, William Flynn-designed golf course winds through Virginia's majestic Allegheny Mountains and is known for its gorgeous scenery and challenging layout.
Great course, ton of history associated with it ! One of the most picturesque courses I have ever played. Building that houses the pro shop, is really neat and Lee ( the starter ) is a nice man with a ton of stories to share. A little pricey, but buck up and pay the money, you'll be glad you did !

Grand Old Hotel is getting a facelift! Roof is currently being replaced, with massive renovations to come, according to the hotel. It’s still a grand venue, with an unbelievable great staff.

The Homestead definitely has an old-school vibe to it: the base lodge is reminiscent of a 1960's or 1970's facility, which I find appealing in its own way. The staff is friendly. Most of the skiers tend to be families, so you are seeking a laid-back day on the slopes or want to learn to ski, it fits the bill nicely. The main slope is ideal for working on technique, and crowds aren't really a problem even on weekends. Most skiers bail off of the double-chair at the midstation for an easy run to the bottom, so if you are able to ski steeper intermediate terrain you will have the top half almost to yourself. The main slope, steeper on the top half and less so on the bottom half, is long, wide, and gently rolling: great for working on turns! Grooming is typically very good here. Food at the base lodge is fairly pricey, but a grade above the standard base lodge fare. This isn't the place for an adventurous destination ski trip, but it's perfect if you just want to spend an easy day cruising the slopes.
