Hornsea is a small seaside resort, town and civil parish in the East Riding of Yorkshire, England. The settlement dates to at least the early medieval period. The town was expanded in the Victorian era with the coming of the Hull and Hornsea Railway in 1864.

I have cycled the Trans Pennine Trail from Hull to Hornsea many times over the years on my Ebike, its about 13 miles from where i join the trail near Sutton in Hull and the journey takes me about 40 minutes. There are benches and tables at the Swine road junction where many people stop and have a break on the way and a pub near to where the trail joins New Ellerby. You can also walk the trail or ride horses on it; it's very popular with all age groups. I have uploaded some photographs of the countryside scenery on my recent journey for people to view and experience the Hull to Hornsea Trail.

An old historic country house that hosts many local events. Open to the public on selected days between the end of May to August you can explore the gardens, visit the house and enjoy homemade teas in the walled gardens - please see our website (details above) for dates and details of ticket. Please note, teas only available for ticket holders.
Although i’ve Lived in the area for many years we stumbled upon this little gem of a house (and it’s beautiful walled garden and grounds) by accident when taking a boat trip on the nearby mere which is also owned by the estate. It’s a wonderful obviously much loved and lived in home, the gardens are just beautiful and so well maintained. There is a cafe area in the walled garden serving fantastic home made cakes, far too tempting to miss! It’s an idyllic peaceful little spot, only open a handful of days each year but definitely we’ll worth a visit.

The Burn family home for nearly 300 years. 18th century farmhouse with barn and outbuildings. Victorian school room. Doctor's surgery. Childhood and toys display. Exhibition room. Hornsea Pottery with over 2000 items on display. The Whitedale building with a working model railway layout including Hornsea station and scale model fishing boats. No smoking on site.
We passed by this museum and decided to go in during our recent trip. It was extremely interesting with lots to see of interest and a nice little shop where you can buy mementos if you want to. The gardens are nice too. Well worth stopping off for especially if you are interested in local history.

Honeysuckle Farm is a family owned and operated open farm in the East Riding of Yorkshire. We are an open farm. Not a farm park so if you visit us expect to see a real working farm with a commercial herd of cows, dairy cows and a flock of commercial sheep. We also have goats, fish ponds, play areas, horses, red squirrels, a café and many picnic areas. We have been open for public visits since 1992 and we offer a unique and quirky experience of what it is like to run a farm with all its fun, challenges and tribulations in the present economic climate. If you want anthropomorphised animals try a theme park. If you want the real deal then visit Honeysuckle Farm to feed animals, watch a milking display (the milk is processed into ice cream on the farm), have a horse and cart ride with one of our huge Shire horses and chat to the farmers. We keep prices very reasonable - compare us to other attractions - and believe that we offer good value for money - feel free to bring a picnic and you can stay on the farm from opening at 10am to closing at 5pm if you like. Give us a try. we look forward to seeing you.
upon entering the farm is extremely welcoming, everything is well thought of, hand washing facilities are excellent, the cafe is excellent, best scones on the coast, the animals are well cared for and situated for the children, the play area is great fun. The picnic areas are spread out and there is plenty of room to enjoy a lunch or snack while the children play.

One of the best Xmas events I have been to.The staff were efficient and friendly. The whole golf club oozes class. The food was ample and varied from a self service buffet. The disco setup was run very professionally and the venue ( the lounge) easily accomodated 7 large round tables and also space for a large disco floor. I believe that non members of the club are welcome to use the bar. I will definately return. Kudos all round !!

We came for breakfast at 9.30 on Sunday morning and were surprised how busy it was! This is a place that is doing a really good job. Lots of choice (veggie breakfast, herbal teas); excellent ingredients (meaty tasty (non veggie!) sausage), very clean and tidy, lots of extras (books, beach stuff, hand-made cards for sale, binoculars to see the ships out at sea). Our first visit but definitely the first of many!
