We decided to have a Magical Mystery Tour of North Anglesey and we found the magic here! We were welcomed by Richard and had a personal tour of the Mill. His passion and knowledge shone threw and captivated the children (11,9,8,7) and adults alike. This place is such a gem and we will definitely return.. with a booking to the tea rooms which look out of this world!

Holyhead Maritime Museum

THE MUSEUM IS CLOSED NOW UNTIL EASTER 2020 The museum is a fascinating experience for the whole family. Step back in time at the oldest lifeboat station in Wales (circa. 1858), Which houses a wonderful collection of exhibits telling the enthralling maritime history of Holyhead. Situated alongside the Maritime Museum, in a Second World War Air Raid Shelter, is the very informative permanent exhibition "Holyhead at War".

A visit to the Maritime Museum should not be missed. I was very lucky to be given a tour by the guide Mr Edwyn Hughes who explained to me in detail the evolution of lifeboats, the historic background and the causes that led to the unfortunate sinking of so many ships. Mr Hughes also talked about the old port and the shipyard in Holyhead. I was amazed by his profound knowledge of Holyhead’s maritime history supported by numerous names and dates. The museum was small but rich in content, nice lay out and beautiful views to the Breakwater and the Port. The staff at the museum we’re all very kind and welcoming. I am looking forward to another visit in the near future. Thank you

Holyhead Empire Cinema

Located in Holyhead, Anglesey, the Empire Cinema is owned and run by Holyhead Town Council. Recently refurbished, it shows all the latest films in a new, modern, comfortable environment.

We recently booked tickets to go and watch the new mama mia here we go again film and much to our delight found that the seats were some of the most comfortable and roomy in a cinema that I have ever sat in. The seats were so situated that no one had a problem seeing the screen as they hadn't over crammed them in like the modern multi screens do. It made us feel valued and the staff were very pleasant too. I would recommend to anyone to go here, if they are showing a film your interested in as we will regularly check what's on and return ourselves at the earliest possible opportunity.

It’s a long time since I’ve been on a proper ferry crossing. It was easy to book and given we have a baby the most cost effect way to travel to Ireland with all the stuff you need. We were created by very polite and happy staff when we arrived in Holyhead even though it was freezing and quite windy. The ferry itself was clean and had loads of good facilities for everyone. All in all we were really impressed with the service by Stena Line
